“What do you guys think? But be honest!” I bit my lip while examining my reflection in the large full body mirror. I was trying on a baby pink pair of UGG boots and I fell absolutely in love with the way they looked on. It was no secret, however, that I always took bold, corky choices when it came to my clothes, so I always made sure to consult with at least one normal person before I made a purchase.

“They’re cute.” Kayla nodded in approval while biting down on her thumbnail. Kayla was the only girl in our bunch whose sense of style came remotely close to mine. She made her own unique choices when it came to clothing, so I always took her advice in consideration. “Really, it looks adorable! And your legs go on forever so you can pull anything off!” She stressed her point.

“You know what? You’re right Kay. I’m taking these.” I smiled at the shop assistant.

“We also carry this model in mint green, would you like to try them on? We only have a limited number of items.” She had me at ‘mint’ and my eyes lit up excitedly.

“Yeah throw those in too!” I nodded impulsively, not even bothering to check them out, and she headed for the back of the store to bring them to me.

“Yay girl! You’re gonna rock these!” Sapphire enveloped me in a bone crushing hug. She has turned so much bubblier since tying the knot with Zack, and so I couldn’t possibly complain about her being overly-enthusiastic about pretty much everything. “Zacky says I look like a little snow monster when I wear my UGG’s.” She chuckled sweetly while twirling her black hair around her finger before sighing dreamily.

“Yup, Syn’s gonna dig these.” Kayla stated out of the blue. Everyone but me grinned mischievously and in no time, they spilled all of their burning question, making me wanna crawl into a corner.

“So…are you two lovelies together now?” Laura pinched my bare thigh sneakily, making me jump in my tracks. “’Cause it sure looks like you’ve been having a lot of fun together.” She giggled and pointed her fingernail at a bruise I had on my leg, “We all know where that came from…” She whistled nonchalantly.

“I dunno…I like him a lot.” I said honestly while we left the UGG store. “He makes me laugh, he’s kind…” I sighed. “Not to mention amazing in the sack.” I giggled naughtily in Kayla’s ear, though everyone heard that pretty damn clearly. “We have new cat together.” I forgot to mention that earlier.

“You and Brian?” Laura blinked, an amused smile tugging on her lips. “You mean, another one?” She laughed, I truly didn’t understand why they kept mentioning the cat situation all the time. So yeah, Brian bought me a cat, what’s the big deal!?

“Yeah…It’s a baby kitten.” I nodded, looking at them hesitantly, because they all stared at me smugly. “What?!” I whined.

“Nothing, just wondering how much he paid for that one.” Sapphire shrugged tactlessly, and I frowned.

“He didn’t spend a penny. We took it in from the street.” I clicked my tongue at her while we made the way to the center of the mall, where we were meeting Hayley, Colette and Amelia. Hayley and I still weren’t on speaking terms so whenever all of us girls got together we somehow always ended up splitting into two groups.

“Aw you did?! That’s adorable!” Laura giggled. “It’s like you have babies together. You should have babies together.” She said in a matter-of-fact tone, and I felt like an icy dagger had pierced my heart.
