Note:
I took this one from the fanfiction I was writing before this book, which btw was a complete failure😂 anyways, at least the idea was pretty good, and I'll probably be doing several parts. Hope you guys like it!

I used to think 'fate' was nothing but a poor invention to explain the reason why things happen in our lives. I believed nothing was planned, that we were in charge of everything that ocurred around us. But, one day, I completely changed my mind.
Why?, you must be wondering. Simple. Something happened to me, something I'll never forget. And I'm not really sure why it did, but somehow, it happened.
It was a while ago. One afternoon, a couple of friends and me got out from school and headed to our usual spot: a small, homelike coffee shop, where I also happened to work at. We lived in a small town, so it wasn't a long way, and we usually walked for over ten minutes as the sun began its way towards the horizon, dying the clouds in millions of different shades of colors.
I loved spending time with my friends, chatting nonsense and feeling the breeze tickle my face, but that particular day, everything seemed and felt like a nightmare.
Why?, you are most likely wondering once more. Nonethless, I'm afraid the answer is a bit more complicated.
See, I used to be a massive fan of Shawn Mendes, a Canadian singer who stole my heart the very first moment I heard his sweet voice. Since then, he was always on my mind, bringing a smile to my face whenever I needed it the most. I know it may sound stupid, but it's only the truth.
Anyways, I could go on talking about him for hours without getting the least bit bored, but I will finish telling you this story. That day, Shawn Peter Raul Mendes, the guy I looked up to, my all time idol and the person I had been following for years, was finally coming to my city for his World Tour, Illuminate.
Yeah, all of that was great. After all this time, he was finally coming here. The thing was, I wouldn't attend to the concert.
"It's all because of this stupid, deserted town", I complained as we entered the antique coffee shop, which had a big sign that read 'Meg's Cafe'. "I'm telling you, if it only were a bit more inhabited, then maybe he would notice us. Or at least, it would have its place on a bloody map"
"Lorraine, for the last time, Wooden Dwarfs isn't guilty for your life miseries", said my 'compassionate' friend Rebecca in annoyance. "Besides, this town isn't that bad. I actually think it's amazing"
Ugh. She was always defending the indefensible. How could you be so fond of a place where nothing interesting ever happened? It was always the same old: everyone knew each other to the point where you couldn't go for a walk without having to wave and greet anyone in sight. No outsiders ever visited. Nothing new was ever built. We were trapped.
But I think the worst part were the damn dwarfs. Yeah, you read well. Dwarfs. The minuscule town wasn't called 'Wooden Dwarfs' for no reason. The only tradition around here were this little hideous handmade dwarfs made of wood, which were literally spreaded all around town as decorations or simply to remind you of their horrible appearence.
"Oh, hello, children!", exclaimed Meg, the old lady who owned this place. We greeted her back and walked away.
We sat down at our usual table, ordered the usual stuff and chatted about the usual things we always chatted about. I drank my precious coffee and ate the delicious brownie I had on the old-fashioned plate before me, which matched annoyingly perfect with the rest of the decorations.
