I picked up my purse and keys from the counter, ready to head to the supermarket for some grocery shopping. My house wasn't much of a deal, but it was just enough for me. I lived by myself, the way I liked it.

I opened the front door, but before I could let my lungs absorb fresh air, something caught my eye: someone was sitting on the sairs, elbows on his knees. Shawn.

My heartbeat began to quicken, but I quickly tried to ease it down. I remained there, frozen, unable of what to do or say.

"I'm surprised you haven't kicked me out yet", he said in a dark, obscure tone that sent a chill through my body.

"What are you doing here?", I managed to reply.

He stood up and turned around to face me, while his eyes landed on me. They had turned the color of the night, and were burning with an eerie desire. He was wearing his typical black jeans and shoes with a grey shirt, which hugged his body tight enough for me to catch sight of his toned, muscled torso. I swallowed.

"You need to leave", I said, not very convincingly.

"I can't", he admitted, and I noticed a hint of defeat behind it.

He took a step, getting closer to me. I stepped back, distrustful.

"Tell me why are you here", I demanded, trying to hide my fear. But what was I afraid of, exactly?

"I needed to see you", he declared.

I caught a glimpse of despair on his eyes. He was just as scared as me, and just as desperate. We belonged together, no matter what we had to go through. No matter the consequences.

He was now inches away from me, but I coul feel him as if we were glued together. I was drawn to his, as he was drawn to myself. There were no walls between us, no barriers. Why had we waited so long?

Light reflected on his eyes, which were now glassy and shiny. They sparkled as if they were two diamonds; both about to shatter in pieces.

A tear fell from one of them and slided down his cheek, tracing a wet path behind. I raised my hand to wipe it off, but he stopped me by grabbing my wrist roughly with his, then closed his eyes, his whole body tensing. I hadn't realised he was shaking until I felt his skin gripping harder on me. He looked defeated and miserable.

"Please, don't", he begged through gritted teeth, and opened his eyes again.

"Why not?", I asked, while the lump on my throat thickened as each second went by. Why was he doing this? Isn't this what he came for?

"Because I will fall in love with you, and that is no good for either of us", he said, and my heart jumped.

"I already have", I admitted truthfully, anxious to release those words once and for all.

His eyes lit up instantly, but there was no time for smiles. We both knew what was coming.

I hesitantly began to raise my hand once more, and finally wiped the tear from his beautiful face as I felt him hold his breath under my touch. He covered my hand with his, shielding it under his soft, tender skin.

We crashed our lips together passionately, and I felt everything crashing and exploding inside of me. I knew he could feel it too. We've waited so long for this, but it all came to this moment when our lips moved in perfect sync, creating a flawlessly disastrous rythm in which only the two of us could dance in, and no one else.

Everything we would have to go through, we would do it together, as one.

"I love you", he said, speaking up the words I knew he deeply feared. But not anymore.

I looked into his bright eyes and smiled widely, unable to contain my brimming happiness anymore. But our moment of bliss didn't last nearly as long as we would've wanted it to.

Seconds later, everything went black.
