boy oh boy, isn't this a hard topic to talk about.
no, actually it's not.
i just wanted to rant about it because i feel like people make one guy in their fics "gay" (usually a very stereotypical gay, mind you) and think that they're very inclusive.
like honey, that's not how it works.

[this is honestly my favourite gif in the whole entire world]
yes; have gay people in your books. they're characters who a lot of people relate to. but please don't make them your stereotypical 'into fashion/sports', 'really emotional/tough' and 'always bullied for being overly feminine/masculine' gay.
gay people are just normal people. no, not all gay guys are really girly and not all gay girls are very sporty. come on i had hope that we live in a pretty accepting generation.
also, i can honestly say that i've only read about 3 fics where it's a girl who's gay. LESBIANS ARE A THING PEOPLE DONT IGNORE THEM PLZ, THANKS.
also also, and this one might come as a shock to some of you, there are more sexualities than just 'gay'.

mind = blown
there are people who are bisexual, asexual, pansexual and so so much more so please don't just ignore them in your fanfiction.
i could technically go on and talk about ethnicity while we're at it, but that's a whole other rant in itself sooooo
