Hindi ko alam kung ilang minuto ako nakatulala kay Tristan nang mga sandaling iyon. I felt my whole body numb and my mind was in somewhere else.

"W-what did you just say, Tristan?" I stammered, looking at him like I wasn't able hearing him.

"N-Natalie..." his voice croaked. He tried touching my hand but I yanked.

"Tell me, Tristan," my voice is calmed but a bit demanding.

He shut his eyes forcefully. When he opened now his eyes, I saw the sadness and pain written in his hazel eyes.

"I-I'm sorry, baby..."

"Ano ka ba, Tristan, sorry ka nang sorry!" my voice raised. "You're getting married? H-huh?" pinanliitan ko siya ng mga mata.

Kitang-kita ko na kahit na ayaw niya sa kaniyang sagot, napatango na lamang siya.

"Oh...my God..." bulalas ko sa pagsinghap. My eyes are starting to burn. Parang may kung anong pressure ang dumagan nang mabigat sa aking dibdib habang nakatuon ang mga mata ko sa kaniya.

Ang banayad ng ihip ng hangin. Sa sobrang banayad, para akong sinusugatan. I couldn't believe that when I almost reached the peak of my happiness, in just a blink of an eye, everything will fall down straight!

"Natalie..."

"T-Tell me..." kahit na gumaralgal ang boses ko, hindi ako makapaniwalang kaya ko pang magsalita sa kaniya nnang ganito. "Ano'ng plano mo? A-ano'ng plano mo sa 'yo? S-sa 'tin? S-Sa 'kin, Tristan?"

He became dumbfounded. His eyes are blood shot now. "I-I d-don't know..." he whispered frustratedly.

"Tristan, do you love me?" seryoso kong tanong.

Namilog ang kaniyang mga mata. "W-What? Of course! I love you! So much!"

"Then, tell me. Are you going to push your marriage with her? Who's that woman, huh?"

He got stunned again. Para siyang natatameme dahil sa lahat ng binabato ko sa kaniyang tanong.

"Answer me, Montenegro!"

He bowed his head. "S-She's Hannah Castillo, daughter of one of business tycoons in the Philippines."

"Hannah Castillo? 'Yong anak ng Castillo Property Holdings, Inc.? Huh?"

His body stiffened, then he sighed. "Y-Yes..."

"Bakit siya pa?!" I raised my voice again in huge disappointment. I didn't notice that my tears overflowed. "How come that you, two, are going to get married, huh? Papa'no?"

Namilog ang mga mata ni Tristan. Susubukan na niya sanang hawakan ako ngunit nagpumiglas na naman ako. Ayokong hawakan niya ako dahil baka manghina ako!

"My father wants her family. Matagal na palang nagkaroon ng kasunduan sa pagitan ng mga Castillo at Montenegro na pagdating ng araw, ikakasal kaming dalawa. I never knew there was that kind of arrangement, not until my father introduced me to the Castillos. Doon na lang din in-announce ni Dad na nakatakda na kaming ikasal kaming dalawa."

"Pero bakit? Para sa anong dahilan?" tumaas na naman ang boses ko.

"My Dad and his Dad are good rivals in real estate but they are good friends in many ways. Bata pa lang ako, napagdesisyunan na nila na ipakakasal kaming dalawa ni Hannah para matapos na ang rivalry nila."

Hindi na iyon kataka-taka. His father is a well-known businessman in the country. To monopolize his business, he would do everything. Even marrying and making his son as a collateral to get his ambitions.
