Peter told Aunt May he was Peter in third grade. He wasn't the gender people assumed he was, and May instantly took to using the correct pronouns, buying him masculine clothes, and even asking the school to change his name on the register.

Peter didn't feel comfortable with talking to May about things he was feeling, and didn't want to bother her. He knew she was ridiculed at her work for being so 'backwards' and 'stupid' when it came to Peter. When she got a new job because she couldn't deal with the abuse, he felt horrible.

And so when, at age 10, Uncle Ben was killed by an armed mad man, Peter didn't think he should force his aunt to suffer anymore. She insisted he wasn't causing her pain, but a little nagging voice in the back of his head screamed otherwise.

Peter had only ever wanted one thing, but could never tell his Aunt about it. It was at the back of his mind at all of his birthdays and Christmas. But never once did he mention it, believing he'd never get it. Until his fourteenth birthday.

The day started off as normal as a birthday can. Peter got up, got dressed, and went down stairs. When he got to the kitchen, he saw Aunt May standing there with a stern look on her face.

"Peter, you're an adult now, so it's time you knew the truth." She said. "This isn't right." Peters heart sank. "So take this." She said finally. Peter reached out for the bag and looked in. Tears brimmed his eyes and he looked up.

"Are you serious?" He asked, as he began to cry. May nodded.

"I know you've wanted to start taking  testosterone since you found out that's a thing you could do in fifth grade." May said. "So here's your first dose. Happy Fourteenth Birthday, Peter."

Let's just say there was lots of crying and hugs that day.

That was also the day Peter started writing his own story, which he called "On The Topic of Masculinity", and this is just an overview.
