"That ends our prayers for today. We will now have a canoeing session for the kids, and a discussion session for adults". Helena walked off with the others in the kid's group.
The lake was beautiful. Manmade, but still a natural paradise.
Kids were ordered to pair up. Helena was hesitant about asking out Jordan, and it seemed like Jordan was the same. Everyone paired up until there was just Helena and Jordan left.Everyone else picked one of their friends of the same gender, leaving Helena and Jordan behind.
"Helena?", Jordan asked quietly holding out his hand for her.
Helena placed her hand on his. His hand's texture was soft, but you could tell there were muscles hidden under that soft skin. He worked them out during soccer.Jordan reared the canoe and started to pedal. Helena was just enjoying the view as Jordan kept pedalling his arms out. The calm, luxurious waters splashed as their canoe gently drifted in the lake.
"Helena, will you ever leave me for someone else?", asked Jordan, "will you...forget me?"
"Oh Jordan...of course not, never", Helena said, surprised why he would ask such a question. She loved him to the bottom of her heart.Jordan took something out of his pocket. It was an anklet with a heart-shaped ruby dangling from it.
"I've been saving up my money ever since the first day I met you. To buy you this, something you can keep forever and remember me by".
He leaned forward and put the anklet around Helena's ankle.
Helena was speechless, she was enjoying the moment, the best day of her life.
When Jordan got up, the canoe started to tilt, and he dunked into the cold water before he could even sit down.
"Jordan, are you alright? Here let me help you", Helena offered her hand to him.
"No, it was worth falling for you", Jordan replied. And with that, the canoeing session was cut short.
