Brittney silently watches as Charlie and Gabe tried to survive in some video game not worth playing, most likely.
"No fair! She's cheating! I call it!" Gabriel shouts quite suddenly, causing Brittney to jump slightly, as she was starting to doze off. Charlie cackles and restarts the game for Gabe.
"Bit of a sore loser, aren't you Gabe?" Lucifer asks as he walks into the room.
"You're one to talk." Gabe spits and Lucifer glares at him. Again, the conversation dies and the room falls silent. Lucifer sits on the couch next to Brittney, not saying anything at first. After a few minutes of listening to the arguing between Charlie and Gabriel, Lucifer glances over at Brittney.
"Bean, are you okay?" She nods softly. Lucifer frowns slightly, not believing her. Gabe shouts something at Charlie and Luci kicks him in the back of the head.
"Ow! Hey!" Gabe grumbles and turns to glare at Lucifer. Lucifer shrugs as Sam walks into the room. Charlie chuckles and Sam walks over.
"Is he causing problems?"
"Yes." Lucifer automatically replies. Sam smirks and Gabe shrugs.
"I think Luci is the one that kicked me."
"Yeah because you were being obnoxious."
"When am I not?" Gabe states and Sam chuckles. Lucifer shrugs and Charlie shakes her head while standing.
"I'm grabbing a snack. Then I'm coming back and beating your ass again Gabriel."
"But you always win!" Gabe shouts at her as she walks out of the room. Gabe stands up and walks over to Sam.
"What?" Sam asks, looking down at him. Gabe shrugs and smirks. Lucifer and Brittney look at each other and Lucifer fake gags. Brittney barely smiles, but it was enough for Lucifer. Gabe looks over his shoulder and glares at him, but Sam merely shakes his head.
"What?" Lucifer asks, attempting to sound innocent. But we all know he can't do innocent.
"I came in here for a reason. Oh yeah, Cas said he needed your help with something." Sam says while looking down at Gabe.
"My help? Why me?"
"I don't know. He didn't specify anything." Gabe frowns and walks off into the kitchen. Sam shakes his head and follows.
"Ugh, my ship." Lucifer whispers and Brittney barely smiles again. He smiles at her and suddenly she frowns.
"What's wrong, Bean?" Lucifer asks and she shrugs.
"I just... nothing..." She shifts uncomfortably.
"Bean, come on. What's bothering you?" Lucifer asks again. Tears suddenly fill her soft blue eyes. With a shaking hand, she tucks a piece of milk chocolate brown hair behind her ear.
"I just want to know.. why did Malvo let us get away so easily?" She whispers and Lucifer sighs sadly.
"I don't know, sweetie. Come here." Lucifer scoots over slightly and pulls her into a hug. She leans against him and holds onto his arm tightly.
"I'm just scared." Brittney whispers again and Lucifer squeezes her slightly.
"I know. I know, Bean. But you're safe with me okay?" She nods and buries her face in his shoulder. Charlie starts to walk back into the room, but stops in the doorway.
