"You unleashed a nightmare." Silence falls onto the room, thickly covering it.
"What does that mean?" Lucifer asks and Maxlar scoffs, coughing slightly. He spits blood onto the ground before shaking his head.
"Going into that dimension broke a barrier. That barrier was keeping something in there. And you broke the damn barrier and that thing can get out." Maxlar snaps and Gabe nods.
"That's nice. Well, I guess we're saving the world again." Dean mutters and Malvo scoffs.
"You wish." He snaps bitterly and Maxlar chuckles.
"You won't win against him." Sam and Dean glare at him but Maxlar merely shrugs.
"We'll see bout that." Lucifer mutters and Maxlar exchanges glances with Malvo. Malvo nods slightly before pulling out his sword. The Whishling brothers, swords at the ready and eyes oddly glowing, focus on the group.
"I hope you guys are willing to go down with a fight." Maxlar smirks as the sound of bones cracking back together echoes. Lucifer helps Brittney stand and Charlie helps hold her up.
"Let's go."
(MAGICAL FIGHT TIME SKIP WEIRD STUFF)
"The key's broken, jackass!" Lucifer shouts at Gabe. Gabe rolls his eyes, looking around the corner. A soft whistling could be heard from down the hall.
"You can't hide forever. At some point we'll have to fight. You bloody cowards!" Maxlar taunts and Lucifer takes a deep breath. He glances over his shoulder at Brittney. She's pale, sweaty, and leaning against Charlie for support.
"Hey, Bean. We'll get out of this, promise." Lucifer whispers, smiling softly at Brittney. She shrugs with her uninjured shoulder before smirking slightly.
"You say that but it rarely works." She whispers back and Lucifer shrugs.
"You'll be fine." He mutters and she nods.
"Hey, Dad?"
"Yeah?"
"Will I ever get a normal life after this?" Brittney asks and Lucifer frowns.
"I dunno. But, if you want one, I'll fight to the death to give it to you." Brittney weakly smiles at him and collapses weakly into his arms.
"I love you." She whispers into his neck and he smiles, squeezing her ever so slightly.
"I love you too, Bean." Suddenly, a small crash echoes through the hallways. The four of them, Lucifer, Gabe, Brittney, and Charlie, hear Sam shout something before they slowly back away.
Another distant shout sends the group running back the way they came. Brittney stops about halfway out of the building, leaning against Lucifer and breathing heavily.
"I can't, Dad... I can't go.... on any... more." She pants and falls to her knees. Lucifer holds her up enough so she's not completely on the ground. A scraping sound draws the attention of the group.
"You made a mistake, Lucifer. Becoming attached to her ruined everything for you, didn't it? It's nearly killed you." Maxlar mutters, purple eyes oddly glowing in the dark.
"Just give up already, Maxlar. I'm not falling for your stupid mind tricks again." Lucifer snaps and Maxlar chuckles.
"Yes, you're right. In a sense." Maxlar snaps his fingers and the ground beneath them disappears. They fall onto a pile of soft dirt and the light quickly fades.
"Shit."
(MAGICAL TIME SKIP YET AGAIN BROUGHT TO YOU BY TENNY YES)
Lucifer, carrying Brittney, starts to slow down, feeling his arms getting tired and the walk long.
"Shit! I stubbed my toe on more fucking dirt!" Gabe screams and Lucifer shakes his head. The shout ehoes throughout the darkness, mimicked by another voice.
"Gabe?" Sam shouts, appearing in the low light. Gabe whoops before tackling Sam. Dean steps out of the way as the moose falls to the ground.
"We found the way out and then we heard Gabe scream." Cas says and Lucifer nods. Brittney had fallen asleep in his arms and oddly felt lighter than normal. The group follows Destiel as they lead the way out and into the dimming light of the evening sky.
"Free at last." Gabe shouts, running a few feet ahead. Lucifer steps out, looking around suspiciously.
"Something's off." He mutters, but before anything can happen, Charlie is hit in the back of the head by a metal pole.
"It's time you give up, Lucifer." Maxlar growls before aiming to throw the pole at him.
"Come at me."
(And big fight scene up next to finish it off. *grins evilly but it is kinda sadly* This should be when I apologize but, *sighs* I think I should save a real heartfelt apology for those I make cry next chapter.... Get some tissues... Until later...)
