Chapter 13 - Announcement

(I forgot to mention the time jump in the last chapter but it's a year later now.)

1 year later

"Bye Sel!" I waved to my bestfriend as I walked up the stairs to my house.

As I walked into my room I saw Connor on the floor on one knee with candles lit.

I gasped, putting a hand to my mouth.

"Connor...." I whispered.

"Don't talk until I'm done, okay?" All I could do was nod.

"Erica, you are so gorgeous. You make me so happy. I love everything about you; your hair, your smile, your laugh, the way you hum when you run your fingers through my hair. It's our one year anniversary today. One year but I love you so much." He paused and I let a tear slip out of my eye and I smiled.

"Erica Rose Mota. Will you do me the favor of being Future Mrs. Erica Rose Franta? I'm not saying we have to get married this year or next year but I just want to know that sometime in the near future you will be my wife." I nodded and smiled.

"Yes." I said just above a whisper. "Yes, yes, yes." I said louder. He got up and kissed me and spun me around. He put me down and slid the shining ring onto my finger. He took my hand and ran down stairs.

"I'm getting married!" He screamed and all the guys came and said congrats, including Kian who still had that sad look in his eyes when he saw me and Connor together. Connor threw me over his shoulder and ran into the front yard. He put me down and kissed me again.

"I'm getting married! We're getting married!" He screamed even louder. I decided to join this happy moment and scream.

"I'm marrying Connor Franta! I'm engaged!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. I kissed Connor as Jc took a picture. Then we took another picture as I held out my hand to show my ring.

I took out my phone and called Bethany.

"He-" She started but I cut her off.

"Bethany! Oh, Bethany! You're never going to guess what happened!" I said happily as Connor snaked his arms around me.

"What?" She said giggling at my excitement.

"I'm engaged! And before you say something, we aren't getting married yet. Probably next year or a little after. But I'm engaged!" I squealed.

"Congrats. And Erica, you're nearly 20. You're an adult. Get married when you want." I could practically hear her smile.

"Beth, I want you to be the maid-of-honor. And Selena will a bridesmaid. Come over now, please?" She squealed and started telling me all about this book she had made as a child about weddings and she was going to bring it.

I took Connor's hand as we walked along the front yard. I sat on the grass an pulled him down with me. I put my head on his shoulder as we sat there crisscross applesauce for a while. I closed my eyes and sighed happily. Connor kissed my right temple and let his lips linger. We sat there, hand in hand, as the sun set.

"I like this pastel pink color for the brides maids dresses, don't you?" Beth pointed to a color she had in her book. It was a beautiful pastel pink. I nodded and smiled. I pictured me walking down the walk way on my wedding day, my red and pink bouquet in hand, my veil flowing behind me. Smiling as Connor lifts his head and smiles the biggest smile I've ever seen when he sees me. Taking Connor's hands in mine as we exchange vows. Saying "I do." and then the priest saying "I now pronounce you man and wife, you my kiss the bride!" then having the best kiss with Connor I've had.

"Earth to Erica.." Jc said, waving his hand in my face.

"Sorry, I was daydreaming." I giggled.

"Well, Connor wants you. He's upstairs." Jc sounded annoyed or sad. Kind of a mixture but I couldn't tell. I shrugged it off and walked upstairs to Connor. He sat on his bed with his camera on his tripod, looking at himself on the screen. I giggled and he looked at me. He smiled and patted the bed, telling me to sit down.

"We are going to announce to our fans that we are engaged." I could basically hear his smile. He pressed record and we started the video, telling the world that our love was finally going to be officiallized.

"Hey guys. I have here with me Erica, my love." He said pecking me on the cheek. I blushed an waved to the camera.

"We have an announcement to make." I said.

But that's where the hate started...
