"Do you think she's sleeping?" I heard a voice say in a low tone beside me.

"No, I think she's lying with her eyes closed just for fun." Another female voice sarcastically replied. I knew this voice well. "Of course, she's sleeping, silly."

Not anymore.

"Let's just take a seat and wait while she wakes up." The female voice said.

Okay, I think now I need to wake up.

"Hey, I think she's waking up." The voice, who I think is Rafe, said.

"Yes, she's waking up." I replied croakily before opening my eyes and adjusting it to the light. I looked around to see Mia and Rafe looking at me with relief.

"Oh, Ava!" Mia nearly screamed and ran to me with tears in her eyes. She hugged me as if her life depended on it. "I'm so sorry." She apologized with her voice cracking in the end.

"Hey, stop crying. It's not your fault." I replied stroking her back.

"Yes, it is. I should have brought you to the hospital but failed to do so and here you are lying in this hospital bed." She argued.

"No, it's not your fault that I am allergic to peanuts. So stop beating yourself up, okay." I said with finality.

Mia nodded before letting go of me and sat on the chair that Mr. Salvestro was previously sitting on. It was then that I realized that he wasn't present here. Where is he?

"So, how are you feeling?" Rafe asked bringing a chair next to Mia and taking a seat on it.

"Much better. I just can't wait to get home." I replied quite impatiently.

"There actually a surprise awaiting you." Rafe said rubbing both his hands together.

"What surprise?" I asked curiously.

"Well, it wouldn't be a surprise if I told you." Rafe responded mischievously making me roll my eyes.

"Oh please, tell me. I hate being kept in the dark." I sulked making an innocent face, trying to lure him to tell me.

"Don't make such faces. It won't work." Rafe replied in the most bored tone ever making me huff.

"What about you Mia, do you know anything about this surprise?" I asked.

"No, in fact I just got to know that there is a surprise for you." She replied looking everywhere but me. Liar.

"Fine." I mumbled looking away from them.

"Aww, please don't be mad." Rafe said trying to get me talk to them but I stayed quiet refusing to chat with them until I get my answer.

"What happened? Why is she mad?" My stomach flipped once I heard the authoritative yet velvety voice of Sebastian.

I turned to look at him. Oh my God! He looked absolutely breath taking now that he has changed his clothes into a dark blue suit and his hair perfectly combed. And here I am, looking like a wild woman.

"She's not talking to us because we are refusing to tell her about the surprise." Rafe answered making Sebastian shake his head and mumbling something to himself.
