I walked back to my office with a smile on my face. I can't believe how childish Mia can be but I really appreciate her.
I couldn't even have a peaceful moment to myself because my phone rang. Pfft! I swear he cannot see me relax for a bit.
"Come in my office, right now." He bluntly ordered. And here we go again.
Losing no time I walked to his office and saw him focusing on the screen of his laptop. I wonder if he saw me.
"Make two copies of this document." He handed me a document without taking his eyes from his laptop. I noticed the document was filled with lots of figures. Must be the financial analysis.
My stomach was churning while I was walking to the photocopy machine. Well, let me tell you, since my only job was waitress, I did not know how to operate a photocopier. I only saw the photocopier as a huge printer. Nothing more. Shoot! What should I do now? Should I call Mia?
I looked from the corner of my eyes and saw he was still staring at his laptop. Perhaps if I walk away he will not notice. I turned slightly away from the photocopier but stopped immediately as soon as his velvety yet commanding voice was heard.
"Are you done?" He snapped from his place making me even more nervous.
"I-um-I," I tried to formulate a sentence but apparently my brain and tongue both decided to ditch me today.
"You what?!" he nearly shouted, clearly losing his cool. Oh my God, just kill me now.
"I don't know how to make copies," I honestly said. I could feel his anger rising, that's why I refrained myself from looking at him.
He sighed heavily and I heard shuffling sounds coming from his place and in a matter of seconds he was near me, roughly taking the document from my hand.
"I wonder why my dad chose you as my assistant," He seemed like he was murmuring to himself as if I was not even here. "You look like a retarded kid!" Ouch! How dare he say such things about me?! It's not like he had learnt everything even before he was born and worst of all, he called me a bloody kid. He was reprimanding me as if he was a sixty year old man and I was the uncontrollable child. Bloody jerk. I so wanted to snap at him but biting my tongue to say something inappropriate seemed a better option, now that I definitely was in his bad books.
"Now look carefully." He commanded. I wanted to observe him as attentively as possible but his close proximity and his cinnamon cologne made it close to impossible. Oh boy, he smelt so good. All I wanted was to get closer to him and sniff him. Weird I know but I couldn't help myself. Focus, Ava, my subconscious reprimanded.
I shook my head and concentrated on what he was doing. He started the process by opening the top of the photocopy machine which looked like a giant mouth and placed the paper onto the corner. He then closed the lid and he selected number two where 'number of copies' were found on the screen. Finally, he pressed the copy button. Few seconds later, two identical copies came out of the photocopy machine. "Was it so difficult?" Sarcasm was all I could hear from his tone. He roughly handed me those copies and went back to his desk. "I want you to bring those documents with you in the board room in exactly ten minutes." He glanced at his watch and wore the suit that was hanging on his chair. As much as I hated to admit, he look incredibly good looking in that blue marine suit as his if he just came out of an Armani commercial. This man was the sheer definition of flawlessness and confidence.
"Okay, Sir." I replied, tearing my eyes from his perfect body.
"I want you to prepare some coffee and bring some biscuits as well in the board room and do not make any mistakes or else you can start packing your stuff." He glared at me making me gulp. With that, he left his office with long strides.
