The word pain has many different meanings. There's physical and mental pain. Some may say that physical is the worst of the two. In my opinion physical pain can always be fixed. A broken arm is healed by a cast. Mental pain, physiological pain stays with you forever. Medication can't fix who you truly are and the worst battle to fight is with yourself in your own head.

I won't deny the pleasure that I feel when my fist connects with his face. How liberating it feels to have his facial bones break under the force of my own doing. This was the least of what he deserved.

"Deputy!" I heard someone in the distance but my focus was on my prey. I will not be distracted, I will finish this hunt until I see the life leave his eyes.

When I opened my eyes I was wrapped in warmth. Usually when Derek and I share such a tender moment like we did last night, one of us was already awake and out of bed and it wasn't spoken of. Not this time. This time felt different. Almost like last night was a declaration of something. I moved my head to look at his peaceful features. Sleeping Derek was my favorite Derek. The troubles of what's going on currently don't affect him in his sleep and he looks so relaxed.

"You know that's kinda creepy" Derek said in his morning voice. I smiled up at him as he tightened his grip around me and finally opened his eyes to look at me. I'm sure I look like a mess. I didn't even get ready for bed last night.

"You just look so peaceful" I said. Derek let out a soft laugh as he brought his lips to mine in a soft good morning kiss.

"And you" He said backing away a little to look at me closer "look like a raccoon" His comment made me roll my eyes and stand to get up but he quickly grabbed my hand to stop me from walking away. "Never said I didn't like it"

"Yeah whatever" I said walking to the bathroom. Once I looked in the mirror, lets just say that he was right. I looked like I just had a wild night at the club. Once I got done getting ready I walked back into the loft surprised to find Boyd there.

"Hey Boyd, how are you doing?" I asked him.

"Pretty good considering everything" He said.

"You look good. I never got the chance to tell you but I'm sorry about Erica. I can't imagine what you went through" I said placing a comforting hand on his shoulder.

"Thank you" He said softly.

"So what are you doing here?" I asked.

"We are going to follow the twins" Cora said walking into the room with Derek. I looked at the both of them with raised eyebrows.

"Are you sure that's a good idea?" I asked Derek.

"We need to find out where they are staying so we can attack" Derek said shocking me.

"What are you going to do Derek, figure out where they are staying the blindly attack the blind man?" I asked.

"You got a better Idea?" Derek asked.

"Wait it out, let them come to us then we attack them" I said.

"By then it might be too late" Derek said. Deciding to shut up before it turns into an argument, I grabbed my belt that contained my gun, pepper spray, and handcuffs.

"I gotta go to work" With a nod from Derek I took that as my cue to leave. Letting them come up with their ridiculous plan, if Derek decides to attack the alphas then somebody is going to die and I will not let that happen, not if I have something to do with it.
