Your POV:

I slide into my tight, red dress. I look in the mirror and fix my hair and do my makeup routine.

I'm leaving in 20 minutes with Dan, so I have to be quick. D*mn my procrastination. I apply some red lipstick to match the dress.

Before I leave my room, I put on my black heels. God this is going to be a pain. I already have regrets.

"DAN LETS GO!" I yell in the direction of his room as I walk to the front door. Dan is already waiting there. He looks amazing, dressed nicely in a button up shirt and tie.

"Wow. You're on time" I laugh slightly.

"I REALLY don't want to f*ck this up" he smiles awkwardly.

"Well we better get going. The cab is here"

The two of us climb into the car and Dan tells the driver where to go. We arrive at the restaurant.

"Reservation for Howell" Dan speaks to the staff.

"Oh I'm sorry sir, we had to give away your reservation. The whole place was rented out" the employee sighs.

Dan flashes me a worried look. He opens his mouth to say something to him, but I shake my head.

"It's okay Dan, we can do something else" I say, grabbing his hand and leading him outside.

"I feel terrible. I REALLY wanted this night to go perfect, but I always find a way to mess things up. I understand if you want to go home" Dan sighs.

"Dan this isn't your fault. Fancy restaurants make me nervous anyways. Any ideas?"

"Well," he pauses, "I have one". I give him a look to tell him to go on. "We could go to the arcade? It's not far"

"Sounds perfect" I smile brightly.

"I'll call a cab?" I ask, pulling my cell phone out of my bag.

"No, lets walk. The sunset is strikingly beautiful" he looks up to the sky to soak up the view. I nod and we begin to walk in the direction.

Dan was right. The setting sun's rays bathe everything in a pink glow. The sky fades from yellow to pink, a breathtaking view.

I look over at Dan, currently occupied by the view. I hold his hand and see him start smiling, which is honestly the best view there is. Cheesy, I know, but the sunset has appeared everyday. I don't think Dan has genuinely smiled for a while.

We reach the arcade and place an order at the counter for a large pizza. People keep looking over at us.

"We are REALLY overdressed" I whisper to Dan, laughing slightly.

"Yep" he laughs back, sliding into a booth.

"I've missed this" Dan mumbles, so I won't hear.

"Me too" I say aloud, catching him off guard.

"Does that mean tha-" Dan gets cut of by the pizza being delivered.

"What was that, Danny?" I ask him.

"I um... I know I've made up my mind. About how I want us to be" his eyes dart around, trying to read my facial expression.

"Oh yeah? And what is that?" my voice cracks slightly.

"I don't want you back" he pauses. I feel my heart sink. Tears threaten to spill out of my eyes. "I NEED you back. It's been a nightmare without you. Please, just, be my love again? I'm sorry for hurting you, I won't let my insecurities hurt our relationship again. I mean I understand if you don't want to get back together bu-"

"Dan! Stop rambling. I've made up mind too" I announce. He inhales a shakey breath.

"And that is?"

"I want you back too" I smile. "But you better not break up with me like that again"

His eyes go wide, "I won't. I promise". The two of us awkwardly shuffle out of the booth and give each other a long embrace. We probably looked really awkward, but I don't really care. I waited for so long to be back in Dan's arms, and I wasn't going to let a few weird looks stop me.
