Chapter Thirteen

Riley (I know shocker)

Damn this girl is insane. And how many weapons does she have!?!? Anyway not the point is Sergeant Reys and his team saved us.... Hopefully. Now a days you can't really trust anyone, even the military.
"How long have you been watching us?" Laney asks.
"Ever since this one left the city." Reys said pointing to Carson.
"Ever since I left?! You've probably been watching before then!! All those people you could've saved before me!! Pathetic." Carson mummled the last part.
"Selfless. That's gonna get you killed kid." Reys said. She then pulled out her knife and put it to Reys neck.
"I don't care if I get killed or not! Innocent children are in that city living in fear! Innocent people living in fear. Starving to death. Dehydrated! And probably already dead!! I'd rather it be me there not them. I'd rather it be me dying. Not them. And do NOT call me kid understand?" She yelled at him.
"Alright I got it. Put the knife away." Reys said minor fear in his eyes. She does as told but keeps the knife in her hand.
"Okay. Well one as you already know she hates being called any nickname and is selfless. Two do NOT piss her off. And three do you even know how to use a gun? Cause I'm pretty sure you would've pulled it on her already." I tell Reys.
"Got it. And yes I do know how to use one." He says.
"Then use it. Now." I tell him.
"Are you serious?" He asks while laughing. He looks at my face and sees I'm serious.
"Alright then." He takes out his gun and starts shooting. He missed every time. I chuckle at his mistakes.
"What are you laughing at?" He asks frustrated.
"Give me the gun man." He hands it over to me.
"First you're not shooting at the target." I tell him.
"Like you can do any better." He says smartassly. I look out the window thingy. I look, aim, then shoot. Did that about five times and killed more than I thought I did. I hand the gun back to Reys.
"I'm pretty sure I can." I say sassily. Who knew I had sass? I didn't. Everyone is snickering and Reys is saying incoherent words.
"Damn dude you got shown up by a teenage boy." One guy says.
"Yeah well thanks to Carson I can actually use a gun." Everyone looks shocked except for Laney, Nate, and of coarse Carson.

After about two more hours we landed at the base.
"Alright newbies. Here's your bunks. Showers right down the hall. Be up at dawn, you all get job starting tomorrow." Carson then got up and walked to the 'boss' of this operation.
"Do NOT call me newbie. That is not my name. My name is Carson and you will use my name!" She says threateningly. I pull her away from him
"Sorry about her. She hates being called something other than her real name. Also don't piss her off. That's scary." I tell him. Then walk off.
For the rest if the night I couldn't sleep. I wasn't even tired.
After about an hour or so I'm finally alseep. Long day damn.
