The Virus

Chapter Three

I wake up to the sound of guns being fired so I grab mine and walk down the stairs. Only to fine them shooting at targets.
"God damn you people! I thought they've gotten in thanks to you! Why are you shooting your guns anyway?" I ask them. And when I get no answer I take charge.
"No ones going to answer? Alright well... You're not going to get a clear shot if you're shooting like that." I say.
"And how do you know?" Nate asked. So he's going to get smart huh? Well try this on for size. I take my gun out of the holster aim at the first target and.... Bulls eye!
"That's no-" I cut him off with the last for shots in the head of the target.
"You guys are not aiming. Use your eyes not your head. Look, wait, shoot. Don't just look and shoot. It will get you into more trouble than you need to be. Now try again." I tell them sternly. They all step up to the target. "Alright now look, wait, and SHOOT!" I tell them.
"Good now keep shooting I'm going to put the targets closer." I say to them while walking.
"But what if one of us accidentally shoots you?" Riley asks.
"If you aim correctly you won't." I tell him.

After about two hours of teaching these idiots how to shoot we go back inside, except me of coarse. Instead I scope out the area. And of coarse there are walkers all around which means I have to be quiet it also means I have to get into a tree just in case I do something stupid.
After I climb into a high and sturdy tree I take out my gun open the chamber and no bullets great.
"Dammit!! How stupid can I be?" I whisper to myself. I should've at least brought extra bullets.

Nate

Carson has been gone for a while and I'm getting worried. So I ask the others.
"Has anyone seen Carson?" I ask. Everybody shakes their heads no. Dammit.
"I seen her walk out into the woods, probably to scope out the area." Riley says coming down the stairs. I nod and say "Get your weapons and let's look for her." I tell them. They all nod and we walk out the door.
"Where is she??" Laney asks with worry in her eyes. I shake my head not knowing.

Carson

I here people talking and what seems to be Laney. Yes!! Wait they don't know. So I find a loose branch and throw it towards Nate although it hits Riley instead. He looks up and sees me. I wave then point. He gives me a confused look and finally realizes what I'm saying.  He pulls out his gun and aims and shoot. Hits the head. I guess that did help. After the walkers start surrounding them I jump on one and beat it's head into the ground.
"Took you long enough." I say. I take a rock and this it at a zombozos head and surprisingly it kills the damn thing.
Killing these things really get your adrenaline going. I then realize we may not make it out alive. So I turn to everyone and yell "GO!!! ILL BE FINE!! JUST RUN!!" Nate looks at me worriedly I nod telling him to go. He glances back at me and I mouth 'go' before he can come back. He sighs and runs back home.
"Time to die bitches." I mumble. Before I do anything I hear gunshots and I run behind a tree. After they stop I walk out from hiding and I'm surprised to see what I saw. My best friend, Kayla, standing with her dads rifle. She looks at me smirks and says. "Thought k I left did you?" I laugh and hug her.
"I thought you died." I tell her.
"Same goes for you." She says while chuckling.
"I'm just glad you're okay. Now c'mon you got people to meet." I tell her walking away.

We finally get to the house and everyone is sitting down just staring blankly. They see me and start bombarding me with words.
"Guys guys calm down. I'm okay. I would've died if it wasn't for Kayla here." I say.
She smiles and waves. Her smile faulters when she sees Nate, her ex. Well shit.
