Chapter Eighteen

Nate
"Let's go." I follow after Carson and Damien to the lab where the alarm was pulled. Once we got there we were all shocked. It was Laney in the lab covered in chemicals as she was leaning against the wall for support and happened to pull the alarm. She looked at us nervously, "Oops. My bad." She said quietly.
"Laney, are you ok?" Carson was the first to speak.
"Uhm I think so? I was mixing these chemicals together and lost my footing but I'm ok." She replied.
"Well we're going have to tell the general that it was a false alarm. He may be a lil pissed but-" Damien was cut off.
"What the hell happened?" And speak of the devil he's here.
"I uhm I lost my f-footing while mixing these ch-chemicals and i held onto the wall and I di-didn't realize that the alarm was there." Laney sounded scared of him. She looked uncomfortable like something happened.
"What did you do?" I asked the general.
"What?"
"What. Did. You. Do?" I said it more slowly so that this lowlife would understand.
"What are you accusing me of boy?!"
"Laney, did he do anything to you? Anything at all?"
He looked at her threateningly.
"Laney..did he do anything to you?" I asked more calmly. She slowly nodded.
"You bastard!" I yelled and punched him the face. I've always been protective of Laney. We've been best friends since we were little.
"Nate!!" I heard someone yell my name. But I was too pissed to actually pay attention.
"Nate!! Get off! Nate!!" I was pulled off someone, by multiple someone's. I turned to face Carson, the worry in her eyes didn't go unnoticed.
"I know that whatever he did was fucking horrible but Damien will take care of it ok? I know you're her best friend but you have to calm down." I was shocked, no one knew that we were friends. The shy girl and the jock, friends? No one would've believed it. So, how did she find out?
"Nate, it's ok. Damien is going to take care of it like Carson said." Laney came up behind Carson.
That bastard will pay for whatever he did to her. If Damien doesn't do shit, I will.
