Chapter Twelve

After that heartfelt moment it was time to be serious again. We have to be cautious out here in the city. Too many hoards of zombies to split up. No where to hide really. All we can do is stick together.
After walking for what seemed like centuries it was only an hour or so. We see a huge hoard of them. Blocking our only way out. That is until I see a latter about a hundred feet away from us. I tap on Nates shoulder to let him know I found a way out. He then proceeds to tell the others. We all start to walk towards the latter but stupid me had to trip and and let out a yelp. They hear us and and start running towards us. Shit, I think to myself. This is not good. Speedies. I hate 'em.
"Run!!!!!" I yell.
We all start running. We let Laney go first, then Riley, then Nate, and finally me. I take longer because I'm the last one and don't wanna die. As I reach the latter on of them grabs my leg and starts to pull me down. I kick it down with my other foot, luckily it let's go and I start climbing up. As I reach the top I realize Laney, Riley, and Nate are on the other building. I take a couple steps back and jump to other side. I hit the edge of the building chest first. That hurts. As I'm trying to pull myself up I get pulled up by two pairs of hands.
"Thanks." I say breathless.
"Not a problem." Says I voice I do not know. I pull out my gun and aim at him.
"Woah woah woah. Put the gun down miss." He orders.
"No. I don't know who you are,  so therefore I'm not putting the gun down." I feel a pair of hands take my gun away realizing Nate had taken it.
"You people do not know me." I say. I then pull out my 22 pistol. 
"Miss put the gun away. Please." The guy asks.
"Who are you?" I ask putting my gun down.
"I am sergeant Reys. Me and my team have been watching you through the security cameras we set up. Looks like you can use a little help." He says. We just look at him while his team puts us in the helicopter. We fly over the city and we can see just how fast this place had gone to hell.
