Carson
The next morning we all wake up reluctantly. Who the hell wants to wake up at 17:30 (5:30) in the morning!!? I sure as hell don't. The only reason we have to get up at this time is because of our jobs I guess. I'm not really sure. I have training. Since I'm a trainee I watch the the other Sargent's give them orders on what to do and how to do it. Now I know you're thinking I'm going to be great at this. No you're wrong, I may be great at barking orders but training someone else is not in my forte. Oh well I might as well take advantage of this time while I wait for Reyes and Riley to get here.Laney
Since we're all new here we we're all trainees. I'm a trainee in the nursing department. I TRY to treat people of the disease, treat wounds like bullet wounds or something like that, I also help with common illnesses. But we have to keep an eye those, they have a tendency to become much much worse than what they actually are. Even though I am I trainee I can't sit on my ass all day, so being 'productive' person I am I ask the other nurses and doctors if they need any help. Luckily one does, he just instructs me to pay close attention and keep a distance away from the diseased unless I'm trying to help them get 'better.'
Nate
Getting up at 5:30 in the morning fucks you up. Throws you off. One of the reasons why I'm late to training. I guess since we're all trainees we are technically training. Wait what?! I just confused myself. Ugh I frustrate myself.
As soon as I'm done with 'training' I head to the mess hall to eat. I see the others there as well. Carson, Riley, and Sargent Reyes all look hella tired, guess those guys didn't go easy. Laney looks so lost, poor girl. Doesn't know if she should help or not. And as for me well all we did was go over safety precautions, different routes to get back to the base, and what weapons to use and not to use. If only James was here, he'd love it. He had always wanted to be in the military, but due to a few broken ribs, a couple concussions here and there, etc. they wouldn't let him enlist. Which I thought was stupid but hey, you go by what the law had said. Now there isn't much authority due to the Zombie outbreaks in the... Everywhere!
After I got my food and sat down they all looked at me with this weird expression.
"What?" I asked.
Riley being the first one to reply said, "Dude, why are you not tired or lost?"
"Because all we did was go over safety precautions, what routes to take back to base, and what weapons to use and not to use. Pretty boring." I replied.
"At least you didn't get your ass kicked." Carson piped up.
"Or get lost with stitching a small bullet wound!" Laney cried out. Reyes had said nothing and I'm guessung Carson spoke on Riley's behalf.
"Well damn." I said. They all just nodded including Reyes.
After we ate we all headed back to 'training.'
"Yay!! I'm so happy." I muttered to myself sarcastically. More of this 'fun' shit.Riley
After we ate we had to go back to training. Yay!!! Not. This shouldn't be that hard. Should it? Definitely not.
"Duh, it's practically military training." I said to myself.
Training. Precise shooting, prevention of getting bit, routes to take if separated from group, what to do if group member is stuck, etc. Carson is doing fine. She's got everything down. She thinks teaching people how to fight and all that fancy shit isn't in her forte. But it is. I on the other hand, not so much. My ass has been getting kicked all damn day.
After fifteen minutes the alarm went off. Everyone was scrambling to their squadron. I was with Reyes, Jake, Lee, JJ, Shayna, Luka, James, not our James, Kayley, Ben, June, Keith, Roma, and Lyla.
"Alright we have a breech in the Southwest wing. Every squadron will be in the Southwest wing. Stay safe. Follow the safety precautions. And listen to your squadron leader." The head trainer, Damien, said.
We left following Damien to the Southwest wing. Once we got there everybody was listening quietly. Trying not to make a sound. Until Levi, the clumsiest guy ever, tripped and yelped. Everyone was still. No movement. Not a single sound. Then one by one the zombies filed out of hiding.
Someone screamed in pain. They've been bit. Shit, I thought. Soon enough one came running at me. I elbowed it in the face, then shot the bastard. Thing after thing kept coming after me. It wasn't until I found a place so I can shoot from above that I actually knew what I was doing.
I saw Damien go down, I tried to get a clear shot but I couldn't. I went down and kicked the bitch off him. I pulled him up and before I knew it he shot a zombie in the head behind me.
"Thanks kid. Now get back to where you were." He said. I nodded then went back to my post. I seen Carson trying to fight off more than three at a time. I shot five of them, she then looked up and nodded in appreciation. I nodded back and got back to what I was doing. Though, I didn't notice one running at me from behind.CLIFFHANGER!!!!!
What's up guys?! I'm back. Sorry I haven't updated in a while. I've been busy with basketball, speech and drama, and school. I hope you enjoyed this chapter. Don't kill me for the cliffhanger plz.
Love you all
