Brendons pov:
This morning when I see the doctor he seems very suspicious as he tells me I slept through the entire night last night without a nightmare. I ask him if that means I can go home soon. He tells me I have to sleep through six more nights without a nightmare to get discharged. Which means I have to be a whole week nightmare free.
I'm so excited to finally get to go home and see Dallon. As I turn to exit Dr. Reid asks me, "How did you do it?" "Do what?" I ask. "Sleep through the night without having a nightmare?" Asks Dr. Reid. I hadn't thought of how to answer this question. "You know it's a miracle that you were able to end your nightmares so quickly," Dr. Reid adds. "I just thought about Dallon in a positive way before falling asleep," I lie, "I guess it must've worked."
As I walk back to my room the nurses tell me I have a visitor.
Dallons pov:
I visit Brendon at the hospital again. After the nurse gets done telling us the protocol she exits the room. Brendon comes to give me a hug and I push him away. "What the hell Dallon?" Brendon asked with a confused look on his face. I slam the note down on the table and ask what his 'plan' is. He stares at me in shock. I stare back at him waiting for him to respond. That's when I start to notice the bags under his eyes.
"Have you been sleeping?" I ask Brendon. His eyes start watering as he says, "It's the only way I won't have a nightmare. I make the staff think I'm sleeping when I'm really not. That's the only way I'll be able to go home." "What happens when you get home and fall asleep babe?" "I'll have you to help me," he says, " and that's better than what any of these doctors."
I look down at the table, trying to choke out these words that will break Brendons heart, "I'm the one that wanted you sent here," I pause and see the look of betrayal on his face, "I'm scared of you," I cry, "You tried to kill yourself in front of me. I know you weren't conscious but that made it even harder. I was afraid you would hurt me if I tried to stop you," Brendon can't even look at me at this point.
"I don't know if I can marry you unless you actually try to get help," as I say those last few words, Brendon storms out of the room.
