______________
He walks across the edge of the building just waiting to take one jump to his death. All it takes is one step and he's gone. "You can do this." He said to himself. He runs his fingers across the side of the building, the only thing that's holding him up.
"You're doing something permanent over a temporary problem." They used to tell him.
Bullshit.
"You can do this Ethan. No one ever cared." He says once again to himself.
He swings one legs across the top of the building and doing the same with the other leg. "Bye fucked up world. I won't miss anything. Fuck you." He says loudly.
He closes his eyes and takes in his last breath of oxygen really cherishing the feeling considering it'll be the last time he feels it. He tried admiring the beauty of the world but there's no beauty. He tried taking in the sounds of the wind blowing and birds chirping but all he could hear is his cries followed by silence.
Keep the ones that heard your crying over the silence
The truth is, Ethan has no one. No one to comfort him when he's in an emotional state, no one to pick him up when he's falling, no one to calm him down in times of trouble, no one to love.
He's lost in his thoughts. The voices in his head overtake his crowded mind. The angel telling him to stop but the devil telling him it's the right thing to do.
He dangles both his legs over the building as he looks at the view below him. City lights and cars. People walking and smiling. Something Ethan hasn't done in a while. He thought he could blink and all this pain would go away but it never did. It's just followed by more pain.
He leans his body closer to the edge as loud sobs escape his mouth and salty, hot tears run down his cheeks making them sting.
As he's about to lean off and fall to his death, he feels strong arms wrap around him.
"Please don't do it." The male voice says. He can't make out who is it because of the tears blurring his vision. He tries to get out of his grip by kicking his legs and moving his arms roughly.
"LET ME GO." He screams as he cries even louder than ever before. "I DON'T WANT TO FEEL THIS PAIN ANYMORE. FUCK MY LIFE. LET ME GO." He screams again.
He never let's him go. He doesn't say a word but the 'silence' between them says enough. The only thing able to be heard is his deafening cries.
Hes crying for help. He's crying for love, compassion, hope, sympathy, faith, courage.
Some things she just can't seem to have. He finally breaks the silence.
"Give me 24 hours." He says while caressing Ethan's cheeks with the backside of his soft hands. "W-what?" Ethan asked confused with what he meant.
"Give me 24 hours to change your mind. 24 hours to show you if it's worth taking your life." He calmly says. "O-ok." Ethan simply says in shock that someone would want to help him.
