We had all sat down in the cabin after Julian suggested it, following Xerxes closely behind. This pull between the two was being heavily denied by Xerxes, not wanting to be forced with the power bond thingy. One that also has me reeled into Penelope. Which to no surprise has Sebastian on the edge and wanting to stand between the two of us, funny to think I'd even consider her as a partner. I am mated, and carrying his child. Shouldn't be an issue.

"So if you're supposed to 'keep her alive until the next red wolf' then why weren't you around her the moment she was born? Much like you are now with the pup on the way." Sebastian asks, using air quotes while standing in front of the arm rest in the chair I was currently in. Crossing his arms making his chest puff out, it was stupid of him to do so, these people aren't supposedly a threat. If they where Xerxes wouldn't just be hosting them here rent free.

"Because I start to protect her when she becomes pregnant, once the pup is born and it's the red wolf-" to which she holds up her finger in the air clearing her throat before continuing, "-Which I can only tell by looking into the pups eyes- then I am off and can roam the earth freely. Waiting until your little female becomes pregnant... and so on." It kinda made sense, she was here to make sure the next generation is carried on, probably finding a loop hole in the mix of the deal she had made. Now I was stuck with her until our pup was born.

"What if the pup is a boy?" Xerxes asks, obviously being the typical man wanting a son to carry on his name. Even though if we have a female I will make sure she has every right like the first born male.

"Impossible, a red wolf has never given birth to a boy, well she was pregnant with one but either she lost the pregnancy or it was born stillborn." Penelope explains, answering our questions simply. It was nice to have the answers laid out in front of you, it was a change.

"That's impossible, how am I here then?!" Xerxes breaks his calm faze with anger, something was pushing behind him. He needed to do whatever he was doing with Alaric again, it was getting to be worse. I'm sure I had something to do with it, but my motherly instincts wanted him to stay.

But my sister side wanted to calm him down, only one voice was louder than the other, keeping me in my chair.

"Simple, you weren't born from a red wolf, Dalia," she pauses sensing his power that pushed forwards."Wait- you already know this don't you?-" Xerxes roars and grabs the under table and flips it over. Crashing it into the fireplace, I yelp, almost like I transported Sebastian next to me. His back getting the splinters as they slipped into his skin with the breaking wood.

"She was my mother! I won't let anyone tell me different!" He screams face red with blood, veins popping out of his forearms and neck, he looked livid. I was terrified of him for the first time in my life, having my hands instinctively reach out and clutch onto Sebastian's clothing. Pulling him closer for protection, before walking out Xerxes looks me in the eyes hurt almost knowing like he's been replaced. No longer can he protect his little baby sister, or at least it looked like he had been replaced for that.

It isn't true.

He walks out slamming the door and a minute passed before Sebastian settles down, although he picks me up and sits me in his lap. When I try to fight him he growls and tells me to not piss of his wolf at the moment. Which I seemed very unfair, like he gets what he wants again.

Although a part of me reasoned with myself and allowed him to keep me there, his hands never breaking from their death grip on my hips.

I knew Xerxes anger needed a release so instead of being a good sister I let him go, running off in the woods at a speed I couldn't keep up to. Definitely not in my state.
