I sit at our coffee table while he orders our coffee. When he comes back and sits down he gives me my coffee and makes sure he doesn't spill it. I watch him carefully his smile so bright and radiant. It was almost like I've fallen in love with someone's smile and I hardly even know who he is, like I know that his smile makes me happy, it's just. Ugh, I don't even know how to explain it.
"So uh how was your studying yesterday? You were studying right?" Grayson said shyly.
"Yeah, just chemistry, school stuff.."
"You in school?"
"Nah not yet I'm starting in July probably online. You in school?"
"Online school." He smiles again.
"Oh cool, why did you do it online? If you don't mind me asking.?"
"Oh well my brother and I we make Youtube vidoes for a living and it was easier on us so yeah."
"That sounds cool!"
"It has its ups and downs."
"Everything does.." I look down into my now empty coffee cup and ask myself why I said that out loud.
"Hey.. Amber?" Grayson's voice sounds so genuine and worried. I'm surprised he even remembers my name to be honest.
"Yes Grayson.?" I'm almost scared of what he's going to say not that I know what he's going to say though.
"You know it's okay, you can talk to me. I don't know much about you or what's wrong but I know what ever it is I'm sure it will get better.." He smiles at me almost signaling me to smile to,
and I do. Only a small one but I do.
"Yeah I suppose.. one day.."
"I can help you if you want?" He smiles.
"What? You just met me, literally saw me studying then spilt your coffee on my table then you saw me cr-crying.."
"Do you watch movies?" He says, almost laughs.
"Yeah why?"
"Well, there's this thing where a guy sees a really pretty girl and something inside him tells him to talk to her.. I didn't know how to talk to you and Ethan saw me looking at you so he pushed me, making me spill my coffee."
"Uh okay.." I almost laugh
He looks at me, like he is unsure of what to say because it is suddenly so awkward.
"That doesn't explain why you.. bought me to coffee or wanted to help me in the first place.." I smile at him slightly as he thinks of his answer.
"I know what it feels like to be alone and I hated it. So when I saw you crying, you looked alone." He looks at the door and jumps.
I turn around to see Ethan walking towards Grayson, I don't think he saw me though.
"Sorry.." Grayson mouths before Ethan arrives at our table.
