Chapter 19~ Double Date

** LILLLY'S POV **

I hear a knock on my front door. Ethan Amber and Grayson must be here. I jump up aand run to the door. Opening the door as Ethan pulls me in for a hug.

"Lilly!?" Father yells behind me.

I feel a rush of nervousness run through my veins as he steps closer.

"Yes father?"

"Where are you going?"

He hates Ethan so much. He doesn't even know him, except the fact the Ethan's my boyfriend and that he's a famous Youtuber. Father never really trusted anyone around me that well, I guess he was scared of loosing me as well.

"Out with Amber." I state quietly.

"What about these boys?" Father raises his eyebrow motioning towards Ethan and his brother.

"Ugh we're going to eat, please just let me go. I'm starving and want to talk to my friends!"

It's so tense and awkward, I hope father doesn't scare Ethan off. I notice Father staring at Ethan intensely.

"Can I speak with you for a moment sir?" Amber steps forward, taking everyone by surprise.

My father nods and the two of them walk to the basement. I turn to the boys as they look shocked. Ethan not as much as Grayson and I.

"What is she doing?" I whisper so father can't hear.

"I'm going to kill your girlfriend Grayson!" Ethan shakes his head while running his hand through his hair.

"Why? What's she doing?"

"I don't know but I spoke to her the other day and if she's doing what I think she is I'm- she's so dead."

** AMBER'S POV **

Lilly's dad walks me through their long hallway and down the stairs. The walls a creamy white with photos of a beautiful blonde lady, some photos where she's just smiling and some where she's holding two young girls. The girls similar to the lady. In one picture she's sitting on the beach with two young girls, one about 3 and the other about 7, both girls with blonde hair and green eyes. Just like the lady. I look closely and the youngest one seems to look alot like Lilly. When Lilly's dad and I make it to the basement he sits on a couch and I sit opposite him. He examines me carefully.

"You must be Amber?"

"Yes sir." God why did I do this.

"What did you want to talk about?" His stare is so intense.

"Um Ethan."

"I figured."

"Well I'm not trying to intrude or change your mind on him but he really is lovely sir."

Since when did I become so proper?

"I don't hate the kid, he seems nice and all but Lil' is my only daughter left and I don't want her getting hurt." He sighs deeply.

"Um sorry but what do you mean last daughter left?"

"My other daughter Sarah and wife Sallie died in a bad car accident when Lilly was about five.." He sighs again.

"I'm so sorry!"

"It's okay though."

"Well if it helps I'll kick Ethan's ass if he hurts Lilly.." I realize I just swore. "Oops sorry!"

"It's okay!" He laughs. "Just watch her for me will you? She's a bit down lately cause it's her sisters birthday soon."

"Sure thing, I'll watch her. We're just going for pizza so we'll be back by midnight!"

"I'm not her evil step mother." He laughs again.

"You've watched Cinderella?"

"Lilly used to watch it all the time!"

We walk back to the entrance to the boys and Lilly talking quietly. Grayson looking so calm and relaxed.

"Be back by midnight." Lilly's dad smirks.

"Thank you sir!" Ethan steps forward and shakes his hand.

"Call me David!"

I watch Ethan smile as he turns back around to Lilly.

Grayson entwines his fingers in mine as the four of us walk into the restaurant. We sit down, Grayson beside me still holding my hand. He holds the menu infront of us both as we read it together. I examine the different pizzas, I like the sound of meat lovers pizza.

"I'm getting meat lovers!" I say pointing to it on the menu.

"You gonna eat it all?" Grayson giggles.

"I'll get a small one."

"Get a big one and we'll share!"

"Deal!"

Grayson leans down and kisses the side of my head before Ethan starts laughing.

"Amber what did you say to my father?"

"Um I told him how Ethan just got out of rehab and that you coming out to tea will help with his recovery."

"What!?" Ethan jolts forward in his seat in a panic.

"Haha chill! We spoke about how kind Ethan is then we spoke about your family for a bit and then we spoke about Cinderella and yeah he let you go."

"Use spoke about Cinderella?" Grayson laughs.

"Well I said we'd have Lilly back by midnight and he was like I'm not her evil step mother and yeah that's pretty much how our conversation went."

"Stop." I look away from Grayson.

He blows on my face. Again.

"Grayson!" I stand up and walk to the toilet.

I'm not angry I just need to pee but want to make him think I am. I pee, wash my hands and walk back to the table. Grayson looks at me worried while I try not to laugh but I fail. I start laughing as I sit down.

"It's okay I had to pee!"

"Oh thanks! I thought you were mad at me."

"That was what she wanted you to think!" Ethan laughs.

"Don't tell him E!" I laugh.

** GRAYSON'S POV **

We took Lilly and Ethan home a while ago and now Amber and I are walking along the beach, our hands linked together. Her warmth radiating threw me. She breaths the ocean air in deeply like it is the last time she'll ever go to the beach. I feel Amber's grip on my hand getting tighter quickly and loosening up again. I look down to her beautiful face.

"Well that was fun."

"Really?"

"Yeah.." Amber sighs.

"You don't sound convincing."

Amber stops walking and looks in my eyes, her dark, deep, brown eyes showing a glimpse of hope as she smiles.

"It really was."
