Boy From The South

Cecile's Pov

After we all found out about which guard we are in, we were shown to our rooms.  Unfortunately I am sharing a room with a boy my age who I don't know.  He has dark bright blue eyes.  His hair is half dark blue, the same color as his eyes, and held purple.  I always catch him looking at me but whenever our eyes meets, he looks away.  He doesn't talk to much and his name is Kenta.  I always have to be careful whenever we are in our dorm room.  Sage, Akira, Edward, and Dylan are all on the same floor as us.

The missions we have been on so far isn't anything to serious yet.  The shadow guards mostly deals with undercover and infiltrating work.  We can't go out so easily anymore and always have to hide our face during most missions.  Kenta, I don't know why but I feel a connection with him. I've noticed that we have many similar things in common, such as liking the foods we like, the way we like to do things, etc.  We both like to eat healthy, well sure the people in the north do to but they don't really eat a balanced diet always while we are strict on it.  Also, we don't find it troublesome to deal with the heat, or have problems with what we do.  We both also have a lot of energy put it into training.  We don't really put much into politics and we don't like lying unless it's for a good reason.  The people in the north, have trouble with the heat and normally don't go outside, unless it's the knights or farmers they don't have problems with it, most of the adults don't really exercise and many of the younger generation complains.  Most people here are corrupted and lie a lot.   Yes, of course this doesn't apply to everyone, however most who has grown up an easy life turns out to be one of these things.

"Ciel, I have a question for you," Kenta asks me on day when it's time for lunch.  We are at a restaurant that he recommended, well insisted we go to, and we just ordered food.  I was on a mission with him so we decided to grab a bite to eat together in town.  We just investigated a hideout for some wanted criminals and sent word to the rest of the shadow guard.  Another group that is more experienced is going to take some of us newbies out to show them the ropes.

"Sure, what is it," I ask surprised since it's the first time we are talking outside of work.

"You were born in the south, weren't you?"  He asks and I almost choke on my food.

"H-how did you know that?"  I ask too surprised to deny it.

"Well, for one, it's your hair, most people born in the south has two different hair colors or mixed hair colors.  I noticed that your hair is both blonde and pink, and at certain times it is either one or the other," he says.

"Wait, if you know that, then you are from the south too?"  I asked shocked as I start at his hair.

"Yes," he nods his head.

"And the reason why you insisted on us coming here is because they also are from the south, aren't they?"  I ask when I see that everyone else is the same as us.

"Yes, this is a place where most merchants come.  They are either from the south here looking for someone or meeting someone who is their business partner, or they have parents from both kingdom."

"That's cool then, the only person I know from the south is the woman who raised me," I say envious.

"Do you mean your mother?"

"No, my mother died not long after I was born.  My father, let's just say he didn't want me and so my mother closest friend brought me here and raised me here."
