Meeting The Princess

Cecile's Pov

Today I am called by the head of the shadow guard.  I'm told that I am given the mission to protect the princess during the royal ball.  All the royal's from different kingdoms are coming here for the annual Royal Masquerade.  The king is worried about the east kingdom prince who has fallen in love with the kingdoms princess.  So I'm told that I will be the one to protect the princess under her request.   I'm going to meet the princess, and once I reach her room, I knock. 

"Come in," she says.  Her voice is soft and gentle.  I open the door and she stands up clapping her hands.  "So you must be Cecile," she says when I shut the door.  I'm surprised and when I see the dukes daughter, I understand.  The princess has long wavy brown hair and bright blue eyes. Her dress is a simple blue one with white on it and pink lace and frills.

"We meet again Cecile," she nods her head greeting me.  There is no formalities between us so I feel at easy since I don't like having to put up an act. "I hope you don't mind that I told Linda here, when she asked me what happened she ordered me to tell her so I told her that you saved me.  But since she thought you were a boy at that time, she wanted to have you married to me so I was forced to tell her or else she really would have the king have us marry," Mira says sighing and staring at the princess.  

"Tee hee, that's because I want you to marry a good guy because you are my best friend."  The princess says smiling.

"You should worry more about yourself rather than me.  Your marriage is much more important since you are a princess and I'm a dukes daughter," Mira says.

"Eh, but don't you think the one who will find the most trouble here is Cecile?  She is dressed and is pretending to be a boy," I'm surprised when the princess drags me into this and shake my head.

"I do not want to marry like other girls our age princess.  I have been raised to pretend to be a boy due to certain reasons but I'd rather stay a knight than become a wife to a man," I say smiling.

"You are truly odd Cecile."  Princess Linda says surprised.  

"That I agree with you Linda," Mira says.

"Well even then, Princess Linda. Mira. I don't want to become a wife who will have to stay by her husbands side quietly.  I want to be free, and I doubt any man will want to marry me and still give me my freedom.  However if I do ever meet such a man who will love me and give me my freedom, I'll marry him," I say honestly telling them my feelings.

"So beautiful," Princess Linda says crying, "I hope you find someone who will accept you Cecile."

"Thank you Princess Linda," I say smiling.

"Cecile, can you call me Linda like you call Mira, Mira," she asks me.

"Huh?"  I say confused.

"I want to be your friend too," she says pouting.  Seeing her cheeks filled with air that is like a little animal with it's mouth stuffed with food, I can't help but laugh and nod my head smiling.

"I'd love to be your friend too Linda," I say.

"Yay, now let's talk about the upcoming ball.  Cecile, I want you to take part in it," she says shocking me.

"Eh!  What do you mean!"  I raise my voice and look at her like she's crazy if she expects me to wear a dress. I DO NOT WEAR DRESSES!

"OW, OW OW!"  Screaming, Linda and Mira tighten the corset of men dress.  "Why are you making me wear this death trap!"  I yell as they tighten it even more.

"Because even if you are slim, you cannot wear a dress without one," Linda scolds.  "After this we will train you in etiquette and etc."  Finally they stop and tie it and put a dress on me.  Finally they are done and I'm surprised that they can be strong when they want to be.  Even I couldn't stop them unless I would have hurt them using my full strength needed to stop them.   

"Alright first let's work on your posture," Mira places a book on my head and tells me to walk.  I walk with easy keeping my head up remembering my training from when I was younger.  I guess it's because a princess should know these things that every task Linda and Mira gave me, I did it with easy.

"Did you have lessons doing these things when you were younger Cecile?"  Linda asks me surprised.

"I did in fact, I didn't know why I had to have these lessons but I have found out recently actually." I tell them since they are now my friends. 

"So why do you know them, not that it's a bad thing," Linda continues asking questions.

"I'd rather not say Linda.  I cannot really tell you," I say with a complicated look on my face.

"Then it's alright, you don't have to tell us and we won't pry," she says grasping my hands and leans her forehead against my own. "Your my precious friend and so is Mira, I'll do anything to protect you both," she smiles and I do too.

"Thank you both," I give them both a hug.

"Let's go to the ball now," Linda says, "It's soon going to begin and I need my knight in noble dress to protect me," she say winking.  We all laugh because of a knight in shining armor, she said my knight in noble dress.  (A.N. Bad pun, I know.)

Ling:  Sorry everyone, I was going to update yesterday but I had to go to the dentist and after that I wasn't feeling well, my stomach was hurting after the dentist and my mouth was numb so I wasn't feeling well and also in a bad mood, I HATE the dentist and going there but parents make me.  So yeah, sorry for updating now because today I had to go to eye doctor(?) to get my eyes checked and guess what, they eye sight is worse again.  So my glasses hopefully I get before school starts.
