Journey to the South Kingdom

Cecile's Pov

Today Sage and I are leaving the kingdom and heading to the South Kingdom.  We've already said goodbye to everyone so now so we have started traveling.  Since I'm undercover as a noble lady of one of the ministers of our kingdom that is visiting the South Kingdom for an alliance, I have to get along with my younger sister.  Sage is my bodyguard.  We both have our appearances changed.

"My lady, how are you so far?  Are you tired?"   Sage asks perfectly acting as a concerned bodyguard anxious that his ill young miss hasn't worked to hard and made her sick.  Originally the real daughter of the right minister of the kingdom was suppose to come to the South Kingdom but the because of her weak body she couldn't go so I was put in charge of this.  And using this situation, the king decided for the shadow guards to infiltrate the South Kingdom to figure out if they are planning anything. 

"I'm doing fine Liam, you don't not have to worry.  The carriage ride is just making me a bit unwell but I'll be alright."  I say acting a bit motion sick but pretending to pretend to be alright.   Since there are few guards who are taking us to the border, we have to make sure to act before we reach there since we never know who could be watching.  And just up ahead is the border where we will be left with knights from the South Kingdom."

"Lady Lauren, we will soon be entering the South Kingdom, once we get there we will be escorted by their knights so we will arrive faster so please wait a little bit." He says.

My name is Lauren Howell, daughter of the right minister as I said before and Sage's name is Liam my bodyguard.

Soon enough, we reach the border and the knights escort us.  Of course, the real purpose of them doing this isn't to "protect" us.  It's because as we are now on a mission to figure out what the south kingdom might be planning, they are taking precautions in case that we are spies, which we are, and so they are on their guard.

When we are being escorted to the castle, I take this chance to look at the kingdom that I was  born in.  Similarly my kingdom, the south kingdom is just as beautiful, if not more because there is more land that hasn't been touched by people that much.  Yes there still is buildings and villages, however not as much as there are in my kingdom.  There are many beautiful flowers and plants here that are rarely seen in the north kingdom.

"Wow, this kingdom is so beautiful," I say in awe.  The knights took pride in this when he saw and heard my say this.  They let down their guards and started explaining things to me.  Like what some of the flowers are used for here, what kind of jobs there are, and also about my mother, their queen, or past queen.

"This flower is used to make some essence, and that plant is used to create medicine.  There are farmers, who plants there and there are those who use them plants to create different things like medicine or essence.  Since the land has forests that haven't been cut down like the north kingdom has most of theirs, we have more beasts lurking around so there are adventurers and knights who protect the people.  You see, the late queen loves plants and had a garden in the castle that she personally took care of.  She's the one who introduced all the uses that the plants have to offer that none of use could ever imagine that they could be used in the ways she described.

"Really?  Wow, that's amazing." I say looking at this kingdom that my mother had influenced when she was alive.  

"She was a good queen, and I dare say the best queen. None of the other queens had ever helped this kingdom as much as she had.  But bless her poor soul for dying young.  Not only did we lose our queen, but we also lost our baby princess and a part of our king." The old knight who  was telling me all of these thing sighs with sadness.  "And now that evil queen of ours has taken our king and he hasn't been the same.  I can give you thousands of reasons why she shouldn't be the queen.  Ah sorry, I've said to much plus this story has probably bored you to death Lady Lauren," he laughs sadly. 

"No, I rather enjoyed listening to your stories.  Ah, I see the castle up ahead.  If you don't mind sir, can I visit you and hear more?"  I ask.  Hearing and seeing that I have no evil intentions, the old knight nodded.  

"You can come anytime, just ask for Weinberg from any knight and they will lead you right to me Lady Lauren." He smiles kindly and I return that smile with one of my own.

Sage has remained quiet the whole time also listening to the stories that Sir Weinberg has told me.  All the other knights also warmed up to me and we all got along with the exception of Sage who still refuses to get along with others and kept to himself while staying near me by my side.  When we reach the castle, we all say goodbye and I'm lead to a room to rest.  "Tomorrow is when I will have to meet up with my sister," I say to myself in my mind.  "I hope that things don't get so complicated with her attitude, I don't know if I can tolerate a bratty selfish princess who only cares about herself."
