Chapter 6: Ghosts. . . .
It was finally October. Everyone was getting colds and I tried my best to avoid them like I would usually do. Everyone still had to attend classes as normal so nothing would be missed. I didn't care either way.
I was invited in the Gryffindor common room by Hermione, but Percy wasn't so pleased by me in here. He still hasn't exactly gotten over that I'm a nice Slytherin. I didn't care in the least bit of way.
Harry soon came into the room and found Ron, Hermione, and I and began running over to us. He was talking about Nearly Headless Nick's death day party that was coming up.
We all agreed of going to the party, but Ron I didn't seem so pleased. He said it was rather "depressing". I only rolled my eyes at him and told him to lighten up.
When Halloween arrived, I was slightly excited to go to the party. I never attended a ghosts party before, so I wanted to know what it was like. It was cold as we arrived, and I was just glad I was wearing a warm sweater under my robes.
"My dear friends. Welcome, welcome. . . . So pleased you could come." Said Nearly Headless Nick and let us inside the dungeon. I didn't really know much about him, but just by looking at him made me curious.
"Shall we have a look around?" asked Harry. I nodded in agreement as we began walking around the dance floor. All the ghosts seemed to be very interesting and I just wanted to know more.
"Oh no. Turn back, turn back, I don't want to talk to Moaning Myrtle -" Hermione said looking around frantically.
"Who?" Harry and I asked.
"She haunts one of the toilets in the girls' bathroom on the first floor." said Hermione.
"She haunts a toilet?"
"Yes. It's been out-of-order all year because she keeps having tantrums and flooding the place. I never went in there anyway if I could avoid it; it's awful trying to have a pee with her wailing at you."
"Look, food!" Ron said as we all looked on the other side of the dungeon to see a table. We all walked near it, but the foods just looked horrible. It was absolutely revolting. I'm so glad I ate before I went to the party.
"Can we move? I feel sick," Ron said and I humbly agreed. However, a small ghost flew towards us. And I knew exactly who this one was.
"Hello, Peeves." said Harry.
"Nibbles?" He offered.
"No thanks," Hermione and I said in unison.
"Heard you talking about poor Myrtle. Rude you was about poor Myrtle. OY! MYRTLE!"
"Oh no, Peeves, don't tell her what I said, she'll be really upset. I didn't mean it, I don't mind her - er, hello, Myrtle." Hermione said and I knew instantly that she was very nervous. A female ghost flew over here towards us.
"What?" The ghost asked.
"How are you, Myrtle? It's nice to see you out of the toilet." Hermione said with a fake smile. Oh no, this won't end very good.
Myrtle knew that she was lying about the whole thing and started wailing with tears streaming down her eyes. She then hysterically burst into sobs and flew away. Peeves started chasing after her.
After that scene, things didn't really get any better then on. It was getting dreadfully colder by the second as more ghosts arrived, and I started shivering. It was getting less exciting and more boring. I don't know if I'll be able to take any more of this. . . .
"I can't stand much more of this," Ron muttered as his teeth started to chatter. I nodded in agreement.
"Let's go," Harry agreed and we left the dungeon.
