1 week later
It's been a week since the date. I just couldn't believe that Josh said that to me.
" Forget we ever met."
It was still fresh in my mind. I just...I don't know. I've been home all week in my big red t-shirt and my sweatpants. My hair was in a messy bun and I was at the barstool eating cereal.
" Come on, Leah. Cheer up. I know he didn't mean what he said.", Leayah reassured me.
" Leayah, the way he said it was with... I don't know. It sounded like he meant it.", I said. As I was eating my cereal, there was a knock at the door. Leayah answered the door and Aholibanna, Dayana, Pamela, Karyne, and Valeria came walking through the door.
" Hey!" they all said in unison.
" Hey guys! Wassup?" asked Leayah.
" Nothing. We just left the mall.", said Karyne.
" Cool! Look I wish I could stay but Trey is taking me out for the whole day. So, I'll see ya later.", Leayah said while heading out the door.
" Bye!" said Dayana.
" So, how have you been, Leah?" asked Aholibanna.
" Fine.", I said blankly.
" What's wrong dude?" asked Pamela.
" Her and Josh went on a date last week and it went downhill." stated Valeria.
" Aww! What happened?" questioned Dayana.
" I had to help Valeria with her wedding and I ended up running late and he got really mad.", I said looking down.
" Oh. Like what did he say?" wondered Karyne.
" Well, he called me a trick and said just to forget we ever met."
" Well that's harsh. You want me to beat him up, boo?" asked Aholibanna.
" Nahh boo. Don't do that."
" Leah?" said Valeria.
" Yeah?"
" You really like him, don't you?" I sighed as I thought about her question. I look up and all eyes were on me.
" I do.", I admitted. All the girls smiled.
" Then, why aren't you at his house right now boo?!" exclaimed Aholibanna.
" Yeah. Ya'know, when I'm mad at Kenny, he always lures me with his Kennyness and I don't be mad anymore.", stated Karyne proudly.
" Yeah, we know.", laughed Dayana.
" I could take you to his house if you want.", said Pamela.
" I don't know. What if he's still mad?" I questioned. Everyone was silent until there was a knock at the door.
" I'll get it!" exclaimed Dayana. She walked up to the door and opened it.
" Dayana, who is it?" asked Pamela.
" Leah, I think it's for you." I turned around and saw Josh in the kitchen with the rest of us. I stood up in shock. It looked like he was crying because he had dried up tear marks in his face.
" Josh?"
" Hey. Can we talk? In private?" he asked looking straight in my eyes. I turned to my friends.
" Um...sure. We could go in my room." I said leading the way. The girls stayed in the living room while we were in my room. I closed the door and sat on the bed.
" Look, I just wanna say sorry about last week. I didn't mean any of that stuff I said back there. It's just that... my ex did the same thing to me and she didn't even tell me. The memory just triggered in and I got mad. Hell, at least you told me you were doing something before hand. Look, long story short, I'm sorry."
" It's more than just an apology, Josh.", I said. I hung my head low and started to walk out the room.
" I love you!", Josh exclaimed. I turned around and look at him.
" What?"
" Leah, on that date, I wanted to ask you a very important question. I've been waiting for 3 months to ask you it, but I never had the courage to ask you. So I wanna ask you now." He turned around and look straight in my eyes.
" Leah, will you be my girlfriend?" Josh asked. A tear fell from my eyes.
" I don't know, Josh.", I said.
" Well, think about it.", he said giving me a kiss in the cheek. As he was leaving the room, I stood up from my bed.
" Yes!"
He turned around. " Did you just say 'Yes'?"
I walked up to him. " Yes Josh. I would love to be your girlfriend.", I said smiling. He smiled as well and we shared a passionate kiss.
" Awwww!" all the girls said in unison. We both turned around and we saw them standing by the door. Me and Josh laughed and we all went in the living room and talked the rest of the day.
