Next week were a blur of activities.
The medical faculty new semester timetable were already in full run because they had to do labworks this semester. This made Beam had to quit two of his tutor job, made him almost jobless aside from his arrangement with Forth, no matter how unusual the job were. He just thankful that the money for the installment already secured.
Slightly curious, Beam chose to check his bank account on Monday. He had to pinch his self. There were forty thousand bath surplus from what it used to be. It's more than enough to pay for the mortgage installments and allowing him a sense of security while he searched another part time job.
Beam sent a quick text to Forth, saying his thanks. Suddenly his phone vibrated; Forth's name flashing on the screen. He picked it up immediately.
"Hello, good morning, P'Forth."
"Morning, N'Beam. Were you at the campus already? I think you already checked your account, hmm. Use it wisely, na and focused to your study. I'll be out of town until Friday so I'll see you around on Saturday to pick up our suits. Wait for me, na."
"Yes, I am, P'Forth. We're still waiting for the professor to show up. Once again, thank you so much, na, P'. And have a save trip. I'll see you on Saturday."
They ended the phone call and Beam sent a quick prayer to heaven. A soft voice could be heard from behind him.
"Oh ho.. so lovely the young bird in the morning. Wonder how it will feel when hungry in the afternoon, with nothing to eat. Love can't full one's tummy you know."
Beam turned his head and saw Prink sat three rows behind him. He just sighed and turned his head back. There's something really really wrong with that girl. Beam really hoped Pha would find a lover soon just so that girl could shut up and move on.
Time passed by quickly when one's busy.
Suddenly, it's another Friday night. On super rare occasion, the three of them could hang out together. Beam were playing billiard while Kit and Pha chatted about Pha's old crush.
For someone as cool as Ai Pha, he's so awkward with real relationship. He got the biggest crush ever that Beam ever knew. Beam remembered the day Pha missed his chance because of his teasing so Beam vowed he will help Pha to win his love no matter what if there're opportunities for it.
Then here comes the Saturday morning.
Beam opened his bleary eyes. He didn't drink a lot last night but his head already thumped like angry elephant. Talked about unusual alchohol consumption. He went to the bathroom to wash his face and do his bathroom business then made himself a toast. Thank heaven he remembered to drink water before he fell asleep. Beam nibbled on his toast slowly while he checked his phone.
A notification for a message were there. Beam opened it and saw an unknown number. He read the text. And reread it. Were his eyes kidding him or what?
"Don't be cocky, you slutty low life."
Ok, crazy stuff in the morning were not his kind of breakfast. Beam deleted the text. Sometimes people send stuff like that to annoy, or even hurt, random people. He never understand why they did that but they seriously need help, ASAP. Suddenly his phone ringing. A call from Forth.
"Hello, good morning, P'. Are you back in town already?"
"Ah, morning, N'Beam. Unsurprisingly, no, I'm not. My plane got rescheduled because the meeting were extended. Even now, I'm on my way to my last meeting before I get back this afternoon so I couldn't pick the suit with you. Just go there by yourself na, and pick yours."
"Alright P' but how about yours? Should I picked it up for you too or will you go there from the airport?"
Forth hummed.
"I'll go there from the airport. Just tell Jane that her payment is on the way, na? Be careful of that woman; don't get kiss too much. Yes, I hear you, P'. Alright, I have to go now na, N'Beam. I'll see you at the apartment on 7 tonight."
Beam said his greeting and the call ended. He knew where the store were. Beam tried to remember Pha and Kit's schedule today. But with how much they drank up last night, it will be a foolish option to consider they were able to accompany him. Well, it's better to take a bath and go. The suit need to be taken anyway.
=============================
Beam really impressed with the layout of this down town area. The MRT station were near and the sidewalk were wide and easy to navigate. He walked toward the shop. It's still as beautiful as before. Beam entered the shop and Jane saw him immidiately.
"Aw, morning N'Beam! Welcome! Why were you alone? Where's that stupid so called best friend of mine? Have you had breakfast? Let's have some tea! No worries, sweetness, the suit's ready!"
Jane chated at full speed while grabbing his hand and litterally dragging him toward the fitting area after putting his bag at the table. Beam got push toward a plush chair and a glass of hot tea suddenly appearing in front of him.
"Morning P'Jane. Hmm, P'Forth still on his business trip so he will come here later. I already had breakfast but thank you for the tea. Thank you for finishing the suits, I'm sure it's stunning."
Jane clucked her tounge while waving her hand. "Oh, that man. I'll definitely make him pay in gold. Ok, you have to try the suit first, N'Beam. It's totally important to do it to make sure the fitting and everything about it is comfortable for you. I already prepare the whole package, from shirt, bow tie, chufflink and belt. Now, chop chop, let's roll!"
Beam were immediately rushed in to the first fitting room. Inside, he saw the whole package of P'Jane creation. He changed into the suit. Wow, his butt looks plump in these slacks. And when did his waist got so slim? Beam left the bow tie alone because it's not a clipped on one. He fasten the cufflink and step out on his sneakers.
Jane gave him a loud whistling sound.
"Wow, N'Beam.. I hope Stupid Forth could see you right now. So handsome! Oh, let me tie it for you. And you have to learn how to tie it by yourself. The clipped on version always irked me. Ah, perfetto mio dolce bambino! Now, let's see it together in the mirror. Come, come. How do you think?"
Beam saw his reflection. He looked.. different. But good different. The black of his suit made his pale skin brighter. The white shirt gave a contrast at his middle. His legs looked longer than usual. Overall he looked like an upgrade version from his usual self.
"I felt like this is an upgrade version of myself. Still me but quite different. Do I look good?" Beam turned his face to the older woman. Jane clucked her tounge and grabbed his chin gently. "Good is mediocore, N'Beam. Right now, you look dashingly handsome. Remember to guard your behind tonight; I never thought the sexiness will be this overload." She winked at him.
Beam gave away a laughed and nodded. He changed and gave the suit back to Jane to be packed. He will take the taxi back home so the package didn't get any damage. Public transportation were a no go for this.
"P'Jane, thank you so much for the suits. I'm sorry I couldn't give you anything but please give this to Nate. I hope he'll like it."
Beam pulled out something from his bag. It's a basket ball plush toy that could bounce a little and big enough for Nate to slam around with minimum damage. Jane received the plush toy with a big smile then kissed his cheeks.
"You don't have to, N'Beam, but thank you, na. I'm sure Nate will be happy with this. It's a pleasure to dress you up and I hope we will meet again very very soon. If you ever need a part time job, do contact me. I could always use a good baby sitter."
Beam smiled at the offer. "You're welcome P'Jane. The pleasure is all mine."
