Saturday always meaned a lazy day for him. It's weekend, time to sleep until the sun is high in the sky and just let be. Usually, Beam only went out after 12, along with a grumpy Kit to the market to purchase their weekly food stock. That Saturdays with Forth were totally different though but a good difference in Beam's humble opinion.
Never in his life as a young adult, Beam becomes so excited about Saturday. No more lazed around the bed until 12. Here he were, on 8 in the morning, being chirpy like a little blue bird.
Beam heard a chime from his bedside on Saturday morning. He checked his phone and saw a message. From P'Forth.
Morning, N'Beam. I'm free today so let me see you. I need something sweet to banish the bitterness of meetings' marathon.
Beam tried to remember what will he do today. Since P'Forth entered his life, his free time's schedule changed drastically. No more back-to-back part time jobs, no more stay outside the dorm more than necessary.
He only need to make time for Forth, everytime he needed Beam to. Beam could focused on his study, and his friends, at the moment without anything to be worried about. And Forth were very understanding when he said he had labworks or tutoring session with Pha.
Forth already transfered some money again into his bank account and informed him what's that for. To buy some shirt. To get some books he wished he had. To pay for housing bills. Beam spend it carefully. After being almost frugal for these past years, it ingrained him some seriously important life lesson. Not a single Bath Forth transfered being spend uselessly.
And no, there's nothing important today at his schedule. This Saturday he were only asked to accompany Pha foreseeing the star moon's practice at the campus communal area. Beam wondered will Forth be bothered if he suggest them to see it. Time to check.
Morning, P' Forth. To chase away that bitterness, let me bring you to a magical place full with youth and charms! Pick me at 9?
Beam smiled when he read Forth's answer. It will be a walk to remember for his patron. Now, what should he wear then?
=============================
Saturday for Forth were resting time. He usually worked on shift at his projects and he always, always, asked Saturday to be his day off. Not for a particular reason but Forth suprisingly like Saturday. Since he were little, Saturday were his family day which meaned his parents day off so his family could gathered and simply being family. That's why he endured long hours of meeting and towering paperwork to secure his Saturday. Especially his Saturday morning.
When he woke up this morning, he immediately made a fresh pot of coffe and took a swim at the condo pool. Using his muscles felt good. His tensed shoulder melt under his excercise and let him to be slightly relaxed.
Forth chose to contact Beam because why not? The kid were charming and he didn't want to hang out with someone from work on weekend. Monday to Friday were more than enough of office life, more so when he had to minimized the paperwork tower, thank you very much.
When he picked Beam up at his apartment like they agreed on, Forth were puzzled when Beam asked for his car key. Beam only smiled at him and wiggled his fingers. Forth frowned at him. He won't give away his car jey that easily. Then Beam tried to fight dirty.
He dared to pout at him and threw some serious puppy eyes at him. And blinked those lashes several time. Dammit.
Forth only sighed and put the key at Beam's open palm. He knew Beam could drive but he never knew how good. "N'Beam, P' didn't feel sure about this." Beam gave him a betrayed look.
"P'Forth, how could you? Trust me a little bit. I promise you, I will treat your baby like my own baby. No harsh turns, no sudden breaks, no spontanoues accelerations. Remember, to a magical place full of youth and charms!"
Forth gave away a laugh. "So you will bring me to amusement park?" Beam blinked innocently at him. "Not teeling you... Now, get in! This doctor in training will be your driver today. Please buckled up the seatbelt accordingly."
Forth shook his head. This kid. Ok, he will follow his instruction. Beam sat at the driver seat and admired the dashboard. He caressed the wheel gently. Wow, she is a beauty indeed. He turned on the engine after Forth gave him a cough. Ooppss. Time to go then.
Beam drove them to his intended destination. Saturday traffic this morning were low and it's easy to drive around. His passanger were getting relaxed on his seat. Time for the surprise. Forth saw the campus gate and turned his head to Beam, just to make sure they were in the right direction. Beam glanced at him then winked.
"So... a magical place full of youth and charms, hmm?"
Beam grinned at his words. "Yup. We'll be seeing the star moon practice. Just a walk to remember, P'Forth. Beside, I'm pretty sure a nostalgia will chase that meetings' marathon's bitterness. Shall we?"
Forth got no other choice, didn't he?
