Chapter 33

Saturday were lazy day for Ming. No class, no test, nothing. Before university, Saturday means game day. Yo and him usually hang out together at Saturday, perusing comic books or watching movie or shopping.

He loved shopping. As the middle child, he got a doting older sister, cool older brother and a very cute little brother. Yo oftenly envied Ming due to his 'only child' status but from what he heard from his sister, that status were about to change really soon. Such a surprise.

There were reasons why he loved texting his sister. Not only she were older, thus wiser, she got eyes and ears for latest update. Ming wondered when Yo's parents will inform their oldest child that, well, he will be their oldest.

A chime from his phone grabbed his attention. It's only 8 in the morning, at Saturday morning. Who could be brave enough to face the sun so early in the morning?

The moment his sleepy brain could read the name, Ming's brain started to flood with endorphin. Chat from Kitty Kitkat! What a happy surprise. Ming hastily opened his message. And frowned when he read the content.

Ming tapped his phone screen. KitKat never lied to him before. When he said something is urgent, then it must be urgent. Of course Ming have that phone number. P'Forth were his bro! If his sister were still single, he would really like P'Forth as his brother-in-law but alas, his sister already a happy wife of a very charming man and he even got a very cute nephew from her already. He's pretty sure his sister will gag for even thinking about P'Forth in that way.

This Saturday's weather were clear and promised to be clear all day long. Forth chose a white shirt and faded blue jeans today, something casual. He were heading to the elevator when his phone ringing. He saw an unknown number flashing on his phone screen. Who's calling him so early in the morning. He stopped right at the window beside the elevator and took the call.

"Yes, Forth is speaking."

The words that he heard surprised him a little.

"Morning, P'. It's Kit, Beam's friend."

Even on the phone Forth could heard his low hiss. It seemed the kitty were pissed about something. It's also surprising to be call by Ming's latest love interest.

"What can I help you, N'Kit?"

The line went quite for a moment.

"Beam said you will accompany him today. Any particular destination?"

Forth raised his eyebrow. It's unusual for Kit to ask him this. He even called. "No, he's not. N' Beam didn't tell me he wanted to go somewhere specific. Do I have to bring him to somewhere in particular then?"

Kit's answer made him listened carefully.

Forth stopped the car right at the lobby, where he could saw Beam were waiting with a... whicker basket? Beam walked toward the driver side, the basket grabbed firmly on his hands. Also wearing a white shirt and blue jeans, Beam looked refreshing this fine morning.

"Morning, P'Forth. Could you please open the trunk? I hope I'm allowed to store this in there." On closer looked, it seemed heavy. Forth wondered what Beam put in there.

"Done. Nothing would spoilt by the heat, right? Did you want to feed an army or what?"

Beam's laughs could be heard while he put the basket in. He walked around to enter the car and sat down beside Forth. "No, nothing would spoilt, P' and I didn't want to feed an army; I just wish to feed us. Sight seeing could be tiring, you know. Here, hydrate yourself first. Hydration could boost your focus." Forth accepted the water bottle and drank it. It got a hint of mints. Beam fiddled with his seat belt.

"So, it's up to me or do you wanna go somewhere, hmm?"

Beam caught out guard. Well, P' Forth were asking him, right? He steeled his resolve. "Yes. Yes, I do have a destination on mind. Are you sure you want to surrender your life to me today?"

Forth scoffed at hearing Beam's words. "N'Beam, even if you say so, I'm still the one who drive the car. If I didn't want to go, I only need to turn off the engine and pocket the key." Beam mock-gasped at hearing that which made Forth laughed. "But today I'll lend my life to you. Where do you wanna go?"

Beam's eyes sparkled like gemstones, made Forth stomach somewhat queasy. Oh, this can't be good.

"Let's go to amusement park! I wanna play!"
