Chapter 5: “Feelings”

The day ended quickly and it was 1’o clock. I checked my watch, I have to meet Youngmin in the singing class right now. I walk briskly to the singing class. On my way there, Minwoo stopped me.

“YN, Kwangmin told me to tell you something.”

“What is it?” I asked.

“Come to his house at 5, he said it was regarding to the drama project tomorrow.” Minwoo replied.

Damn, I totally forgot about it. Kwangmin was my partner for the drama project tomorrow. The project is to create a romantic scene that will convince the teacher to give you a good grade. And the deadline is tomorrow. My heart beat faster. A romantic scene with Youngmin/Kwangmin. Oh my god.

“Kwangmin said not to be late, here’s the address by the way.” Minwoo continued as he handed me a note containing an address.

I slipped it into my pocket as I nodded and continued walking towards the singing class. I brushed the thought on making a romantic scene with Kwangmin. It just made my cheeks blush even deeper. But, why did Minwoo said Kwangmin instead of Youngmin, I shrugged. And why didn’t Youngmin/Kwangmin just tell me that during the additional class? What’s the difference anyway?

(YN still doesn’t know Youngmin has a twin which is Kwangmin so she is still mixed up)

I touched the doorknob and twisted it. Youngmin sat at a wooden chair with his eyes fixed on his watch. He knitted his eyebrows together as he saw me. “You’re late for 2 minutes YN.” I bowed down my head. “Uhm sorry, had something going on there.” “I was just teasing you.” Youngmin laughed.

I crossed my arms. Not funny.

“Come sit.” He placed his hand on the chair beside him. I sat down. We talked about maintaining our tone and others. He played the guitar slowly matching his voice. Then he demonstrated another lesson. He asked me to try singing. I sang and he sang along too with his guitar. As soon as we finished he tossed me a can of orange juice. “Drink, you must be thirsty.”

“Cheers! To our first additional class.” Youngmin chuckled. He held up his can up high.

“Cheers!” I smiled.

The next minute, he shifted closer to me and put his head on my shoulder. My whole body tensed up. I wasn’t expecting that. I felt uneasy and nervous practically. The sound of the pouring rain made me come back to my senses. I glanced at my watch. It was 4 already. Time flies so fast.

And I just remember my appointment with Kwangmin/Youngmin at 5. Wait, Youngmin should know he had an appointment with me at 5. Why is he still here with me instead of preparing at home? My thoughts were spinning. I didn’t get it. Although, I like having Youngmin’s head on my shoulder, something felt wrong. But, it felt secure.

Youngmin sat up straight to break the silence. “It’s raining. Let’s go home.”  I nodded. He smiled.

We stepped into the hallway. It seemed dark and endless with only a little bit of light coming through the windows. “Careful.” Youngmin called out. He walked quicker than me as I was back into my normal outfit and heels. I walked quickly too and my arm banged against a locker. I realised I was alone in the hallway. “Youngmin?” I called out. Great. I lost him.

Finally I reached the school’s entrance. I took a deep breath. It was raining hard and I had no umbrella. “YOLO” I thought. I used my black Balenciaga bag to cover my head even though it was useless. I was running towards the bust stop when a shade covered me and the rain stopped hitting me.

I turned.

It was Youngmin. His eyes showed an exactly same expression like the first time we met. A worried expression. His blue shirt was slightly wet and his hair was messier. He gnawed his lip, “Sorry I left. I had to get an umbrella for us.”

Us. That word. I felt my cheeks getting hot and I stepped backwards. The rain hit me on the shoulder. Youngmin grabbed my waist and held me closer to his chest. “Don’t. You’re going to get wet.” I was surprised by his act. That moment, I forgot about everything and I just wanted to be with him. Even though it was still raining, I could hear the beat of Youngmin’s heart getting faster. What was this feeling?  His warm hand clutched my shoulder and he brought me closer. “Just stay with me YN.”
