“Sorry …Kwangmin.” I apologized.
I stood up, reaching for the door. I could not handle it. His words are too painful to hear.
“Is that all you can say?” He fought the tears. “Is that it?”
I couldn’t say anything. I felt bad and guilty and the same time. But he was right, I could only see him as a friend, same like Minwoo. They were all just friends. Youngmin stole my heart in the first place and it was Youngmin all the way.
I walked towards Kwangmin and wrapped my arms around his neck. I let my head lean on his broad chest. His heart was beating really fast.
“Listen Kwangmin, you’ve been very helpful and kind with me from the very first time, and I see you more than a friend. Don’t get disappointed that much; there are still a lot of girls out there lining up for you.” I started.
“Sorry I couldn’t repay back my feelings towards you. You know where my heart belongs.” I continued and brushed off a tear sliding down his cheek.
“But, if you need me, I’ll always be there for you. Just like you being there by my side.” I smiled. I handed him piece of paper containing my number, “If you need me, just call me, I’ll be there alright.”
He gripped my hand tightly, “I will, thanks YN.”
“So my first love ends like this huh? Gone just like that?” He sniffled and let out a light laugh.
“The next one will be better, I promise.”
My phone rang abruptly, vibrating underneath my pocket. It was from Minwoo.
I picked it up.
“Yes?”
“Yah YN! Where are you?” Minwoo shouted from the other line.
“I’m going back, wait.” I giggled.
“Hurry! The lemon tarts are ready! It’s time for us to taste it!”
“Patience ha-ha.”
I hanged up and turned to Kwangmin. “See you. Get a grip soldier.”
Kwangmin nodded, giving me a smile.

I reached the culinary room and Minwoo was there, waiting.
“YN! What’s taking you so long?”
I held up my bandaged finger which silenced him. “Didn’t knew.” He grinned quietly.
“Hyung, we’ll be eating first!” Minwoo called to Hyunseong.
“Enjoy!” Hyunseong responded.
We grabbed ourselves a fork and took a tart for each. The flavour melted in my mouth as I tasted it. “Yah….. oppa, it’s really the best.” I commented.
Minwoo squinted his eyes as he tasted it. “Mhmm, so sour… and refreshing.”
Everything was so peaceful at the moment that I decided to keep quiet.
--
As soon as the last bell rang, I head towards the school lobby quickly. I had to pick the best outfit for my first date with Youngmin at home.
I made my way through the crowd to the parking lot. As I was about to enter my car, someone called my name.
“YN!”
I turned and saw Minwoo waving towards me. I smiled and waved back.
“YN are you free tomorrow?” he asked as he approached me.
