Louder Than Words

Chapter 14

Selena's POV:

Me and Justin were wrapped up in his bed covers in complete silence. He had me pulled tightly against his chest as he kissed my bare shoulder from behind. I let out a sigh. I wished we could stay like this forever, but in my case, that was close enough to impossible.

"I will find a way to get you out of this marriage thing Selena." Justin reassured me as if he could read my mind.

He rested his lips on my shoulder and I could feel his eyes on me. I glanced at him from the corner of my eye and smile slightly.

"You don't have to.." I whispered.

He sat up straight and stared down at me in disbelief. I lay back on his bed and stared up at him, waiting for him to speak.

"Of course I have to." He almost gasped.

"Really you-"

He cut me off.

"Stop Selena." He told me, "I'm in love with you and there is no way in hell that I'm going to share you with some other guy."

I pushed myself up into a sitting position and pulled the blankets up, covering my chest.

"It's too much bother Jay."

He scoffed and shook his head, wrapping his arms around my body and pulling me against him, kissing my ruffled hair.

"I'm in love with you Selena." He repeated, "Love doesn't come around that often and I don't want to lose you.. I won't allow myself to lose you. Trust me, this, isn't going to be a bother, I just have to think of a way to stop this."

"What if you can't?" I questioned.

He chuckled and turned my head so that I was looking at him.

"Well then I'm just going to have to throw you over my shoulder and run away with you then, won't I?"

I laughed and rested my head against his chest.

"Whatever you say." I murmured.

I slowly made my way into the restaurant, ten minutes late.

I had to meet up with my parents, Chase and his parents tonight.

It was a pain in the ass having to leave Justin again but I really didn't have a choice.

My mom was the first one to see me when I walked through the main doors. She gave me glare before standing up. My dad, Chase and his parent's heads turned towards me. My mom made her way away from the table and over to me.

"Where were you?" She hissed under her breath, but kept a smile on her lips.

I smiled genuinely, "I was with a friend."

She glanced at me.

"It wasn't that boy from earlier, was it?" She asked in a tight voice.

My grin got wider.

Luckily, we were already at the table so I couldn't exactly answer her.

"Selena, hun, why don't you sit beside our young Chase?" Chase's mom asked.

I glanced at her, studying her quickly.

Fake.

Her smile was completely fake. I could tell that she disapproved of me already. Not that I cared at all.

"Sure."

I walked over to the empty seat beside Chase and sat down, Chase glanced at me and smiled before taking my hand in his and putting it on the table for everyone to see. He squeezed it.

My mom stared at our hands and smiled in awe, along with Chase's mom but she mainly kept her focus on her son.

"Aw." My mom cooed lovingly, staring at us.

I smiled uncomfortably and glanced at my dad who again had a fake smile plastered on his face.

How do I know?

Because it looks like he's in pain. Like it's painful to put a smile on his lips.

"Dinner was lovely." Chase's mom smiled, shifting in her chair, "Even though it was a little late."

Ouch.

She directed that one at me. I just knew it.

I smiled at her sweetly as she looked at me.

"Well, I wouldn't worry about that." I grinned, "I don't think we would've missed much anyways, I mean, this whole dinner seemed to be focused around you gloating about your family anyways."

Her face visibly dropped. My mom went pale. My dad just stared blankly, not caring. I'm guessing he wasn't a fan of Chase's mom either. Chase's dad on the other hand looked like he was in total shock.

"Excuse me?" She gasped.

"You heard me." I said sweetly, standing up from my seat and grabbing my purse.

I glanced between my mom and my dad, smiling.

"Ready to go?"

I didn't wait for them to answer. I walked right out of the restaurant with no regrets.

Only god knows what my mom is going to say later.
