Louder Than Words

Chapter 23

I stood beside my grandma at the front door, both of us watching as Justin put our bags back into the car.
The past two weeks flew by and now it was time to go back home and face my parents again. The thought made me feel sick.

"He's a good boy Selena." My grandma told me, "He cares about you."

I glanced at my grandma and smiled slightly, "Yeah.. I know."

She smiled, pulling me in for a hug. We hugged each other tightly because we didn't know when the next time we'll see each other is.

"I'm going to miss you." She murmured.

"I'll miss you too." I replied sadly.

She pulled away and gave me another smile. Justin made his way back to us, his hands shoved into his pockets as he smiled at us.

"Come here you." My grandma told him, opening her arms.

He chuckled, walking towards her and pulled her in for a hug. They hugged for a couple of seconds before pulling away and saying their goodbyes.

Justin wrapped his arm around my shoulder as we said our one last goodbye to my grandma.

"Take care of yourself." I warned her.

She chuckled, shaking her head, "I'll be fine."

I nodded and looked up at Justin.

"Ready to go?" He asked.

I took a deep breath and nodded, "Yeah."

He smiled, kissing my forehead quickly before walking me to the car. We got into the car and waved at my grandma as he reversed out of the driveway.

"Are you ok?" Justin asked, glancing at me as he drove down the highway.

I tore my gaze away from the window and looked at him, giving him a small smile before nodding.

"Yeah.. I'm fine." I replied, "I just don't want to go home.."

Justin took one hand off of the wheel and scooped up my hand, squeezing it reassuringly.

"Everything will be perfectly fine baby." He told me, "I'll make sure of that."

I smiled at his words. Unable to believe everything he said so easily. He seemed so reassuring when he said that, like he knew what was going to happen.
I sighed and stared at my feet, silently thanking god for blessing me with a boy like Justin.
