Chapter 22

~ Justin's P.O.V ~

I gave Selena the keys to the car, giving her a cheeky smile.

"Take care of her." I smirked.

Selena rolled her eyes at me, grinning to herself as she hit me across the chest lightly.

"Yeah, yeah." She mumbled, leaning into me.

I wrapped my arms around her, sliding my hands into the back pockets of her jeans, smiling down at her. She stared up at me, her lips curved into a beautiful smile.

"Are you sure you don't want to come with us?" She asked again.

"Shopping with you and your grandma or watching football? Hmm..." I grinned.

She giggled, pressing her lips against mine.

"Your loss." She mumbled against my lips.

Her grandma coughed from behind us making us pull away instantly. Her grandma was standing in the middle of the hallway, smiling awkwardly at us. I looked down at my feet, allowing Selena to speak.

"Are you ready?" She asked her happily.

"Mhm." Her grandma replied.

Her grandma walked towards the door, saying goodbye to me. I walked Selena to the front door, grabbing her hand to stop her from walking off. I brought my lips down to her ear.

"Bring back something pretty."

I winked at her as she gave me a confused look. The wink gave everything away. She knew exactly what I was talking about; I knew that because her cheeks went to a rosey pink color.
I laughed as she hurried towards the car to her grandma.
I stood at the door watching as she pulled out of the driveway and drove down the road. Once they were out of sight I let out a sigh and closed the front door.

I was taking this opportunity to ring Selena's dad and try and talk to him about the marriage since nobody else was in the house so I didn't have to be careful. I doubt Selena would like the thought of me talking to her father.

I grabbed the phone that was on a table in the hall and dialed in the numbers that Selena's grandma gave me, telling me that it was her dad's number. My heart was pounding against my chest with the nerves of actually talking to my girlfriend's dad, especially because I have no idea what I'm going to say to him.

He picked up after the first couple of rings.

"Hello?" He answered.

"Um... Hey." I replied awkwardly, "This is Selena's father, yeah?"

"Who wants to know?" He asked stubbornly.

I rolled my eyes, "Her boyfriend."

"Boyfriend?!" Her dad screeched, "That's a lie! She doesn't have a boyfriend.. She wouldn't... She's getting-"

"Yeah, I know, she's getting married." I growled, "But your little girl isn't little anymore, she can make her own decisions."

"And..?"

"And she has decided that she doesn't give a damn about Chase. I'm in love with your daughter and she's in love with me-"

"That-"

"Shut it and listen to me!" I growled, "What kind of a dad are you? Huh? Forcing your only child into an arranged marriage with some boy she doesn't know at the age of seventeen! Do you realize how fuck up that is?"

He was quiet for a moment. I could hear him let out a sigh.

"Yeah. I do actually but it's her mother's decision, I don't have a say in it."

"You her dad!" I yelled, "Of course you do!"

Hey stayed quiet again.

I growled, "I'm her boyfriend. I'm in love with your daughter and your wife has got another thing coming to her if she thinks that I'm going to give her up to some guy who's only going to bring her unhappiness."

"Why are you doing this over the phone?" He questioned, letting out another sigh, "Look uh..."

"Justin."

"Right, Justin." He replied, "You seem like a decent guy and all but what use is talking to me over the phone going to do?"

"Fine." I replied, "Then when I'm back in town I want to meet up with you face to face and I want answers and I'm not taking no for an answer, got it? Good."

".. When will you be back in town?"

"Two weeks." I replied, "Meet me outside of the park, I'll call you again when I'm back in town."

I hung up after that. I didn't want to hear him refuse or accept, it's because he didn't have a choice. Either way I was going to see him in person and I'm going to get some answers.
