~ Justin's P.O.V ~
I stood in the middle of the park, swaying back and forth on my heels, waiting patiently for Selena's dad to show up. I rang him again once I dropped Selena off at her house and told him to meet me here. His reply was, was that he'd be here soon.
While I was waiting I thought about what I was going to say to him. I mean, I guess I had to choose my words carefully, after all, this is the first time I've ever really talked to Selena's dad and usually when the boyfriend meets his girlfriends dad for the first time the conversation isn't about how he's planning on ruining the girls arranged marriage.
"You must be Justin."
I turned around quickly at the sound of someone saying my name. A man and a woman stood there. I recognized the woman from the parking lot, the day I was talking to Selena.. I guess this was her mother and the man standing besides her looking extremely uncomfortable, I presumed was her dad.
"Err.. Yeah. That's me." I confirmed, walking towards them, I looked at Selena's dad and raised an eyebrow.
He glanced at his wife as he explained to me simply.
"She overheard the conversation on the phone and wanted to come with me."
"Hmm, so you're the boy that's planning on ruining our daughter's wedding." His wife snorted, looking me up and down.
I smirked, "You're lucky if she'll even make it to the church."
She glared up at me, "Excuse me?"
"Oh I think you heard me."
She scoffed, shaking her head.
"Look um... Justin. We both get that you may be in love with our daughter as you said but-"
"How old are you?" His wife asked curiously.
"Eighteen.." I replied cautiously, raising an eyebrow at her.
A glorious grin spread across her bright red lips.
"Eighteen you say?"
I nodded, frowning slightly at how happy and powerful she looked. She glanced at her husband in victory.
"Oh Justin." She chuckled in amusement, "What a silly silly boy."
Her husband let out a sigh and looked down at the ground as his wife took control of the conversation. It's easy to tell who wore the pants in the family, that's for sure.
"You won't take our daughter away from her own wedding... In fact, you shouldn't even be this close to our daughter just yet, should you?"
"What the hell is that-"
"She's only seventeen." She laughed, "You're eighteen.. She's underage.. It's the law."
"She's right." Her husband spoke up, looking up at me with what looked to be sadness.
"If you even attempt to take our daughter away from us, it'll be considered as kidnapping. Hell, you shouldn't even be near her."
I felt my throat go dry, knowing that what she was saying was true. It was the law. I shouldn't be dating her and if I take her then it's kidnapping. She's getting married while she's still seventeen with her parents' permission, which means that there was nothing that I could do.
"My god." She snickered, shaking her head as she looked at me, she placed her skinny hand on my arm and continued, "Nice try Justin but let's face it now, you're not superman, or a miracle worker.. There's no way you can get her out of this.. In fact, there's no way you can get her at all, unless you want the police involved."
"But-"
"It's your choice.. Continue seeing our daughter and get the police involved or simply just break it off with her and move on with your life while she starts hers with Chase."
A growl escaped my lips thinking about Selena starting a life with Chase. Another boy who doesn't deserve her, all he has is money and as much as he'll like to believe it, it won't please a girl forever.
"Just leave her son." Her dad said quietly, "It's for the best."
His wife gave me one last victorious grin before linking her arm with her husband's and pulled him away. Leaving me in the park, lonely and... Heartbroken.
