Aftermath

Yugi's P.O.V.

We were running through the castle trying to find Pegasus, we have to find him! He's the only one who can return their souls! "Wait a second" Téa said "why? What's wrong?" I asked "that tower, I've been there before with Tristan and Bakura Pegasus' sanctuary maybe it was just a dream but-" "only if we were both dreaming I'm starting to remember it too Pegasus fought with-" "why don't you losers stop wasting time and get a move on already" Kaiba said before running off towards to the tower. "Kaiba wait!" I shouted and we all headed to the tower following him. As we got closer to the tower we heard a loud scream, whoever it was sounded like they were in pain! "That sounded like Pegasus" Joey pointed out before we got inside "look! Something's happened" Téa said, Kemo was carrying Pegasus but he didn't look good at all "Croquet what happened to Pegasus?" I asked "that's none of your concern, he's suddenly taken ill" Croquet replied "but what about Grandpa and the others? He promised he'd free their souls he promised!" I told him "not my department" he said before walking out. "Man did you get a look at Pegasus?" Joey asked "who or what could have done that to him?" Tristan added "who cares? That snake got what he deserves" Kaiba scoffed before walking into Pegasus' room.

We went in and looked around, there was a painting of a young woman and Téa found Pegasus' journal and started reading from it. A card dropped out from the book it had a picture of that lady "she's everywhere" I muttered "she seems to be very important to him. Darling Cecilia at last I finally found a way to return you to this world, it's an elaborate plan but not one beyond my genius. It involves the Kaiba brothers and some ancient magic I wish to harness when I have obtained more Millennium items" Tea read. "This explains why he set up the tournament and went after Yugi" she said "and maybe who this girl is" I added "pretty obvious he's hung up over her" Joey said before Téa continued reading. It explains that Cecelia was Pegasus' lover, who died when she was 17. The two had met at a party held by Pegasus' father. They were attracted to each other, and told each other their dreams; Pegasus' being that he wanted to be a painter and travel the world. The two vowed to always be together. However tragedy struck and Cecelia died of an illness. Pegasus wrote that he was determined to search the Earth for a way to reach her beyond the mortal veil and his travels led him to Egypt. Here he met someone, who knew what Pegasus was going through, but told him to leave. Despite that, Pegasus followed him to an underground cavern. The guards spotted him and took him to the person who he had told him to leave, who was revealed to be the guardian of the Millennium items. The person explained that the only way to leave the crypt is to be chosen by a Millennium Item, and so the person inserted the  into Pegasus' left eye socket. He explained it would either choose him and give him his wish or punish him for being unworthy. The eye chose Pegasus, and for a brief moment he was reunited with a vision of Cecelia. However, seeing her was not the same as touching her, but Pegasus was inspired to find a way to hold her again.

Téa then put the book down, and I saw three blank cards "hey look three soul cards and they're all blank!" I pointed "Pegasus must've freed them" Joey explained "figure that out by yourself dog?" Kaiba scoffed "let's go then" Téa said and we all ran out but when I went down the stair case someone emerged from it! He had a Millennium item hanging around his neck, it looked like a key of some sorts. "Who are you?" I asked, the stranger then began walking towards me before putting Millennium item on my head and turning it like a key. I was now in a mind chamber, the one I shared with the spirit of the puzzle. But this wasn't mine so it must be the spirit's I started walking around until I came to an open door and I walked inside. The man from earlier was now hanging on to the brick floor above a massive hole, if I don't help him he'll fall! "I don't know why the spirit of my Millennium puzzle is doing this to you but I can't let him hurt you" I said before grabbing his hand and pulling him up. "Now maybe you could tell me what you're doing here?" I asked politely "I am looking for the one who stole Pegasus' Millennium eye, I seek only the truth but it's strange my way is blocked" he explained. "It's strange alright but I don't think the spirit of the puzzle is doing this on purpose. I get the feeling that there are some memories hidden even from him. I wish I knew what they were" I said before one of the many doors was surrounded by light and then opened.

We both walked in and appeared in a long corridor with large stone tablets. "What is this place and what's with all these stone tablets?" I asked "five thousand years ago, Egyptian kings played a game with great and terrible power. These games were known as the Shadow Games and were played with real magic and real Monsters but these games erupted in to a war that threatened to destroy the entire world! That was until a strong and powerful Pharaoh locked the magic away and sealed the monsters in these stone tablets" he explained "they look just like the Monsters we use to play with today" I said before yellow light blinded us, the Dark Magician appeared once the light vanished. He went into attack mode ready to attack us "it's another mental defense against any intruders, the Magician intends to destroy us both" he told me. "Dark Magician. We are not intruders, don't you recognize me? Stand aside and let us leave in peace we will not reveal the hidden secrets, you know me you trust me!" I said to the Dark Magician who disappeared and we went back to the normal world.

"I apologise for my rude intrusion in to your mind. I did not realise you were the chosen one and that the ancient predictions have been fulfilled at last. In my search of a thief I instead found the most worthy, fated to unlock all the magic, the theft of the Millennium eye is the first sign that evil once again walks the Earth leaving madness in its wake. As in ancient times chaos yet against threatens to envelope in an unsuspecting world only he who solved the Millennium Puzzle can save it" he said before turning away. "Wait hold on! What do you mean? Is there anything else you can tell me about this?" I questioned him "take great care, be on your guard for whoever the thief is who stole Pegasus' Millennium item, he will also come seeking yours" before he disappeared 'my name is Shadi and I am certain we will meet another day but until then stay true to your destiny, remember the fate of the world rests on your shoulders.'
