A man is thrown at the feet of the Queen, he is bound by heavy chains that drag him down. Both his hands and feet are chained and there's a collar around his neck. The Queen looks down at the man, her arm poised regally on her throne and her back straight. There's a slight twinkle in her eyes as she regards the man at her feet; she looks at her nails as if bored and turns to the King sitting to her right

"This is the third murder attempt this month, is it not?" The Queen asks quietly and slightly amused.

"Yes my Queen" the King responds "what are we going to do to this one?"

"Well my imagination is quite large" the Queen says smiling viciously "I'll think of something"

"Maybe we should send a message" the King says the corner of his mouth pulling up in the beginning of a smile

"A message," the Queen says delighted and stares at the chained man "that'll be perfect" she holds out her hand and a small doll appears in it, an exact replica of the man before her, a guard hands her a fine dagger and she starts writing

"Dear Southern Isles," the Queen starts scratching into the doll. The man at her feet starts writhing in pain trying to hold the screams but as she continues writing he starts screaming "I'm sorry to disappoint but I'm still alive. With love, Queen Victoria" the man stops screaming and falls on his back, his bare chest is bloody with the queens message.

"That'll be all" the King says "put him on a boat and send him to the Southern Isles" two guards nod and drag the man away. The King-father looks at the Queen and holds her hand

"I love you Victoria" he says warmly

"I love you too father" the Queen smiles. She takes a deep satisfied breath and closes her eyes. Her ears are filled with the sound of birds circling the castle and the noise of the merchants down on the streets, noise of her people. Her people, at last.

Taking the castle had been easy but proving herself to her people, gaining their trust, and their love was harder, while most had already supported her they did not know her. Victoria managed it and she turned things around, she redid everything that the former rulers had created and made things fair. The former King ruled with fear, bribery and wealth. Those who could pay their way to the top did and those who had nothing suffered at their mercy. Victoria changed it all.

Everyone had a house, if they had money they could expand but if not, the house was accommodated with all the basic needs. People got to the top based on talent and dedication not money or birth right. There were many jobs and plenty of opportunities for everyone. School was a right not a privilege and two new libraries were opened. The castles own private library was available to the public upon request.

Not everyone was thrilled with the new administration or the new way of doing things but Victoria took care of that as well. She didn't threaten anyone but a small display of power did wonders for convincing people.

After almost a year, eleven months to be exact, Vernelle is thriving at last. Still the resistance hasn't died down and definitely not from neighboring kingdoms. Corona their closest kingdom has welcomed their presence and Victoria is forever thankful for their support. When Belle and Adam called for a vote on whether or not they would kill the villains partners, only a few of the kingdoms voted against the plan, Tiana and Naveen, Corona, Aurora but not Phillipe, and Elsa. Aside from those few everyone else voted in favor and some were, hungry for the plan to take place.

So when Victoria took back Vernelle, it's safe to say more than a couple of kingdoms were not okay with it. So far five of them had sent assassins and two had done it more than twice, the King of the Southern Isles and the Queen Snow White. But none of them could kill Victoria, living on the isle she had developed a sort of sixth sense that warned her if anything was amiss. That and the fact that she had eyes all over the castle, both magical and personal spies. Daniel also helped, he learned many things from her father, Dr. Facilier, and together they developed traps, machines, and escape routes for every occasion they could think of and they had a vivid imagination.

When the day is over Daniel and Victoria head back to their room for a well deserved rest. Victoria after getting changed and brushing her hair decides to read for a while but her phone rings. She picks it up and it's a photo sent by Evie

"What is it?" Daniel asks

"An invitation" Victoria says "to the Cotillion dance. Evie says they're sending an official invitation but she wanted to invite us personally"

"That's nice of them" Daniel says and kisses her cheek "we should get some sleep" Victoria puts her phone and book on the dresser and turns off the lights. She snuggles into Daniel's side and breathes deeply

"Good night" she smiles

"Good night love" Daniel says planting one last kiss on her hair

Side note: Daniel is not king he is prince consort if they get married and Dr. Facilier is king-father while Victoria rules with the highest title of Queen.
