I'm so tired of hearing people tell me how to fucking dress. Let me clear something up: modesty does not equal respect.
I don't have to wear ankle long dresses, regular shirts or pants for boys to leave me the fuck alone. I'm black and living in the southern heat. I need to wear less clothing so I don't fucking pass the fuck out.
Yes, I like to wear crop tops, small shorts, tight dresses, bralettes, and any other "slutty" clothing.
But here's the thing, I don't wear them for compliments nor to attract boys (sometimes). It's cute shit to wear in the heat.
I can wear an off the shoulder top because it's part of my outfit. I like it. I shouldn't have to put a jacket on because I am "distracting people" or it's not appropriate.
I do not fucking give a flying fuck.
You don't have the right to disrespect me over a dress showing too much for the imagination.
You don't have the right to shame me over shorts being too little.
You don't have the right to call me a hoe over a tank top showing my titties.
It takes people 0 dollars to respect women. It's also nobody business to tell someone how to dress. That's a major double standard of America since flappers were popular.
Dress "appropriately". Dress anyway you like.
What is appropriate in some areas, cultures, or families is strange in others. But again you don't need a reason to be respected over clothing.
