I hate talking to ignorant black people about black problems. It's like a debate of their insecurities and the little knowledge they have of black American history. I can't get upset but the slave narrative gets real old, real quick. They like to cry and complain about their problems from the white man but what have you been doing since you know what the problem is? Nothing, they say, it's pointless. That's when I get pissed.
Riots, sit-ins, letters, voting, complaints, community meetings, etc. Pointless?
It's pointless that you're enslaved ancestors were forced to do a lot of things and forced to not do things. And when we get the chance or the reason to it's pointless? Their ancestors are rolling in their graves.
I think the problem of the slave narrative is that people don't know their family's history. There are apps and documents with traces of history and we need to hold on to what we can find. Because thinking your ancient ancestors were only enslaved makes you a problem as well.
