Chapter 17

(Y/n)'s POV

"(Y/n), you need to be more careful. Look at your arm, this burn might leave a scar," scolded Yui.
"You sound like my mother. Anyway, have you seen Kirito anywhere?"
"You're hurt and yet you're worrying about him instead? From my point of view, I would think you two were a couple."
"*blush* H-hey, stop talking nonsense."

She laughed and continued to apply some medicinal paste onto my arm. *sigh* At least Asuna didn't say anything to her father or else I would've failed my mission. But seriously though...where had Kirito run off to?

Kirito's POV

"You never do seem to give up, do you?" asked the leader.
"Ha...you think I'd give up that easily? Considering how you spoke like that so casually, I don't think giving up is an option."

I was hurt, very hurt and not just physically. He wanted to play with (Y/n)? If that ever happened, he wouldn't live to see another sunrise.
Even if it meant that I would have to get hurt in the process, I'd defeat this cruel leader. Even though he had those guns, I couldn't let him lay a finger on (Y/n).

"Seems like you aren't giving up. *sigh* How many times do I have to tell you this? Your sword can't defeat my gun."
"You're too arrogant. Have you seriously not heard of the name of my sword?"
"No, why would I know something that's not legendary, but irritant instead? You're either joking or stupid."

Without giving him time to think, I ran towards him. I completely underestimated his fighting ability due to the weakness of his gang. This time, I'd know his attacks and I wouldn't lose.

I trusted in my sword. My father gave it to me, knowing that I'd be able to wield it.
Every time he shot, I would cut the bullet in half. I've had experience with Glocken's weapons. This wasn't my first time coming across an opponent like this.

"Now are you ready to admit defeat?"

He shook in fear. Of course, he should be. His gun was sliced in half and I had my sword at his throat.

"P-please, spare my life. I-I'll never harm (Y/n)-"
"And?"
"A-and never make a d-deal with Asuna a-again," he replied like a frightened puppy.

What a coward. He seemed to be able to fool people with that fake barrier he put up around himself.
I let him go after a while of teasing him. He deserved it.

Suddenly, a bright light appeared in front of me. It seemed to subdue until what I saw un front of me was a fairy. My eyes widened. Without thinking, I poked its wings.

"Oi, did your parents not teach you any manners? *sigh* And it seems that you're the heir to Glocken..."
"Is that supposed to be an insult?!"
"Anyway, my name's Yato and you're Kazuto Kirigaya, am I right?"
"H-how do you know about this?"
"Do I look stupid to you?"
"Kinda..."

He bonked me on the head with a rock.

"I've chosen you so you get a special power. Just like the heirs to Aincrad and Swilvane, your power will most likely depend on your beliefs and/or personality."
"You mean (Y/n) and Asuna already have their powers?!"
"*sigh* Such an imbecile..."
"Watch what you say, little fairy."
"Do you want your powers or not?!"
"Obviously, yes."
"*glares* You have the power to use lightning."
"Huh? Why?"
"Don't 'huh, why' me! Just deal with it."

Geez, what was his problem? He flicked my forehead. My body was filled with immense pain until it stopped when Yato hit me a second time.

"Now go and find your damsel in distress. I'm getting tired of you already," he exclaimed.
"It hasn't even been 10 minutes-"
"Ugh, she's in the palace gardens. I just received word from my sister, Yui."
"Yui? Isn't that-"
"Yes it is, she's (Y/n)'s fairy."

*sigh* I slowly walked back to the gardens. Damn it, if (Y/n) knew that I was the heir to Glocken...

Where was she? Ugh, I should've asked Yato which part of the garden she was in. Suddenly, something knocked me to the ground.

"(Y/n)?"
"Do you not know how worried I was?! Where were you?! Did you get shot?!-"
"What happened to your arm?"

She quickly pulled her sleeve down but I grabbed onto her hand and looked at the burn.

(Y/n)'s POV

"It's not that bad, I helped apply the paste," exclaimed a little fairy.
"Are you Yui?" asked Kirito.
"How come you can see her?"
"Don't you remember? I told you that I could choose who I show myself to. Your boyfriend seemed like a good guy so-"
"H-he's not my boyfriend-"
"Then consider this the first day as my girlfriend," Kirito cut in.

*blush* What was he talking about? My heart was pounding faster than usual.

"(Y/n), I love you."

Before I could reply, he pulled me in for a kiss. I hesitantly kissed back.

"I-"
"I know, you love me too don't you? That's obvious, a guy with good looks like me would obviously receive lots of love," he said with a smirk.

I pouted. He ruffled my hair before lying down on my lap.

Do you want your wounds to be treated, Kirito?
Yeah, thanks Yui.
Why am I here?
Because you have to be with your boyfriend at all times.

I looked at her, she just giggled. Unexpectedly, Kirito touched my cheek.

"You look cute when you blush."

That caused me to blush even more. Gosh, why was this happening to me?
