Chapter 24

(Y/n)'s POV

That girl...had to die. How could she do that to Shiki? He had bruises and cuts all over his upper body...and they looked fresh. How long has he been enduring this?

"Shiki, what happened to your body?" asked father.
"Sachiko hurt me, father."
"Do you have any proof?"

Tch, did he not even believe his own son? What did that woman do to him?

"Father! He's your own son! Are you really choosing to believe an old woman over your son?!"
"(Y/n), watch your mouth."
"Your highness, please believe us. We are doing this for your safety," Kirito exclaimed.
"No, (F/n). Are you really going to trust your children over your girlfriend?"
"Girlfriend?! What happened to mother?!"
"Everyone, out! Including you, Yuha.
"But (F/n)-
"I need time to think. Do not defy my orders."

Tch, I grabbed Shiki's hand and stormed out of the room. Why didn't father trust us? Were we not his children? He believed some old woman over his own children?!

"(Y/n)-nee, y-your hand's burning hot," Shiki said.
"Oh, sorry."

I immediately let go. Unexpectedly, Kirito pulled me into a hug and rubbed my back.

"Let's go talk to your mother. We may be able to sort something out then," he suggested.
"Yeah, alright."
"You're not going anywhere near that filthy woman," exclaimed Yuha.
"You have no right to talk about my mother like that."
"Do I not? Am I not the king's girlfriend?"
"Shut up before I personally go and rip your throat out."

Sachiko was slowly making her towards Shiki. I stood in front of her, preventing her from going any further.

"Why do you bully my brother? What has he done to you?"
"Nothing, mother tells me he's a bad boy so punishing him is for his own good," she replied.
"Be quiet, you're the one that needs to be punished."
"How dare you talk to my daughter like that?!"
"Come on, Shiki, Kirito. Let's go."

Geez, all these chaotic events never gave me any rest. I'd definitely make Sachiko and Yahu leave for good. Did the gods create a new type of Asuna poison? Was Asuna not enough? Why keep torturing me like this? Did I really deserve this?

Once we arrived at one of the guest rooms, I hesitantly knocked on the door. All I got were slight sobs as a reply.
I cautiously opened the snow white door and went inside with Shiki and Kirito following close behind.

"Mother, are you alright?"
"Oh (Y/n), your father...he..."

She immediately pulled Shiki into a hug and cried. All those tears and all those unforgettable memories were let out.

"Mother, what happened when I was away? What did Yuha do?"
"(Y/n)...your father...he's fallen for her dirty tricks and nasty charms...there's no way I can compete with her. And her daughter, Sachiko...she hurt my child..."

I clenched my fists. I couldn't allow this to go on any further.

Yui, where are you?
Outside. Why?
Tell mother and Shiki about my trip to keep them occupied. Explain everything, I have something I need to do now.
Okay, but don't do anything stupid.

I grabbed Kirito's hand and ran outside to the palace gardens, hoping to find those witches.

"Have you come to discipline me?" asked Sachiko.
"Leave and I won't hurt you."
"No, I don't want to! The palace of Aincrad has everything! Gold, jewellery, a new father-"
"Stop right there. I'm giving you one last warning."
"No, I'm staying."

Hey, Kirito's gone to find Yuha.

"Your boyfriend left you."
"I know."
"Aren't you gonna go after him like a weak little girl?" she asked with a slight smirk.
"Weak little girl? *cracks knuckles* Let's see how well you can keep up."

She immediately got into a fighting stance. Where...did she learn that? That kind of martial arts shouldn't be in the hands of a commoner. Dark Sorrow...was an ancient type of martial arts passed down in only the three ruling kingdoms. No one else had access or any knowledge on this. How did she learn it?

"Surprised? I bet you haven't even learnt it yet. No one can beat me."

She charged at me without a second to spare. I barely managed to avoid it but a high kick immediately followed her punch. I blocked the attack with my arms. Just that one attack caused me to slide back a few metres.

"Face it, (Y/n). You can't beat someone as strong as me."

I lit my katana on fire. She smirked and ran towards me at full speed before aiming for a punch. I quickly blocked her movements with my katana.
She was strong...so strong that it was hard for me to keep up with her.

Her attacks were on point and precise, but not enough to beat someone with noble blood.

"Demonic duel: activate."

My katana split into two and enhanced my speed and agility. This was the only spell that I could use. It took a while to learn but I never thought I'd be using it on some little bully.

Sachiko's POV

That (Y/n), shewss cheating! Enhancing her abilities! Tch, not that it'd be a problem. Even with the slightest-

What?! How could she land a punch on me?! Her attacks didn't seem like an amateur's after the spell she casted on her katana. Tch...nobles getting all the powerful weapons...that was just because they were too weak. I didn't need weapons.

Her attacks were getting better. Damn it! She'd gradually overpower me soon.

"Ha, you don't seem to have noticed. I'm faster than before, right? Don't you think...cloning your body is very effective?" she asked with a smirk.

Damn...that was why she was so fast. Her speed before was almost as good as mine but now with two...I didn't know if I'd be able to keep up with my Dark Sorrow...unless I used that skill.
