(Y/n)'s POV

"Light that shield, darkness that fades. Allow the god to awaken from his slumber, divine strength will be created from his rest. Come forth: King of beasts!"

My katana disappeared. A three-headed dragon appeared in its place. That should keep Kaito's dragon busy for a while, but I had to be careful. Having that creature out for too long would damage my body.

Now, what should I do about these chains?

"I wonder how long you can keep it up. You'll probably die from exhaustion," exclaimed Kaito.
"Don't worry, your dragon will die soon."
"Should I order my dragon to rip that mouth of yours? It'll certainly be a benefit for me."

I pulled at the chains but it was no use.

(Y/n), just believe in yourself! Have some confidence! Your fire is stronger than his magic!
But Yui-
Keep trying!

I guess I had to give it a shot. I've always wanted to try this but never had the chance.

Within a few seconds, I had casted a spell. Kaito didn't notice, which I found very surprising. A phoenix appeared in front of me.

"Free me."

It immediately flew towards the chains at an incredible speed. The chains disappeared, along with my phoenix. Suddenly, an immense force of gravity held me down.

"You shouldn't have done that, (Y/n)."

I glared at him as he walked towards me. A sharp pain spread throughout my body. My dragon had the upper hand but his one had regenerative abilities. Tch, using dirty tricks just like Asuna.

"Give up, (Y/n). You'll never win against me."

He kicked my stomach and smashed me into the ground. He gave me no time to escape as the attacks came one after another.

Kirito's POV

Well, Asuna was easy to defeat. Hopefully she didn't know any spells.

"You have no time to be standing there like that, don't you think? Your girlfriend's getting injured," Asuna exclaimed.

I looked in (Y/n)'s direction and noticed that Kaito was kicking her around like a rag doll. She was barely breathing. Her dragon was straining her magic power.

Damn it, Kaito knew that...yet, he kept attacking her. He knew that she was going to die!

My blood boiled as I watched. He showed no signs of stopping. I immediately grabbed my sword and charged at him.

"Kaito!"
"Oh, how nice of you to join us."

He dodged and jumped back a few metres. (Y/n) wasn't moving, but I could tell that she was alive. Her dragon had ripped his one into shreds, but it didn't stop.

I quickly picked her up and covered the wound on her stomach.

"K-Kirito..."
"(Y/n), please stop using the spell. You'll-"
"I can't.."
"Yes you can! What are you talking about?!"

Kaito threw magic attacks at my back. Damn it, it hurt like hell. I carefully placed (Y/n) on the ground before picking up my sword.

He smirked.

"You finally decided to fight me?"
"You're not gonna win."
"We'll see."

I charged at him while dodging all his magic attacks. He hurt (Y/n), I couldn't lose to him.

Once close enough, I jumped up and threw my sword at him. He just smirked and muttered something under his breath.

The sword stopped right before it hit his face.

"Kazuto, did father not tell you? I found that weapon and made a contract with it. But father, choosing you over me, gave it to you. Since I made a contract, I have control over it. You're lucky I didn't order it to kill you."
"Why are you doing this?!"

He ignored me and continued to attack. I blocked them with lightning. Suddenly, (Y/n)'s dragon roared, causing the ground to shake. Did Asuna summon that creature?! It was a basilisk, a mythical serpent known for its abilities to spew poison.

(Y/n) slowly got up and stretched out her hand. Was she going to fight that thing like that?! Her condition was too bad, she'd collapse at this rate.

"Worried about your girlfriend? I heard that Asuna's using that to kill (Y/n)."
"Stop spreading rumours."
"But its true. (Y/n) can't fight well in that state-"
"Because you were the one that did that to her!"

While (Y/n) was busy fighting, I noticed Asuna slowly move towards her.

"(Y/n)! Watch out!"

I immediately ran towards her. I couldn't let her die.

(Y/n)'s POV

Kirito knocked me to the ground, causing me to wince in pain. I couldn't leave the dragon summoned for much longer.

"Kaito! Why did you do that?!" Kirito yelled.

Asuna disappeared, along with her basilisk. Kaito was poisoned. This was all my fault. If only I had been careful enough...

"Kazuto...I'm sorry..."

Tch, even though he tried to kill me, I couldn't let him die. I ordered my dragon to heal him. But the longer I kept it out, the more pain I'd feel.

I coughed out blood and felt my eyelids grow heavier.

~Some time later~

I woke up. What happened?..Did I black out? Huh, Kirito was next to me with his face buried in my neck.

"Kirito, wake up."
"But I'm tired..."
"How's Kaito?"
"He's still sleeping, and your katana is in my room."

I tried to get up but the pain made me give up. *sigh*

"Don't move, you're still recovering."
"Where are we?"
"In Glocken."
"Eh?!"

He just laughed and got up.

"Kaito used the last of his energy to teleport us here. Don't worry, Klein and Andrew will take care of things in Swilvane."

I looked out the window. He was right, we weren't in Swilvane anymore. Why couldn't everything just be a dream? Then I would never have to experience this.

"(Y/n), don't worry about anything. You're safe here. I had a talk with my father."
"But-"

He shut me up with a kiss and smiled. That was...until Kaito came into the room and ruined the moment.
