"You look like you are dressed for the cold." Brooklyn said as he smiled at me. We were currently standing in the lobby, and my stomach was in a knot from nerves. "Nervous? Did you eat?" He asked as he extended his arm to me, so that I could link mine with his.

"I couldn't eat, I was too nervous." I said as we exited the hotel and started walking down the busy street.

"I told you to eat." He said sternly as a camera flashed off to the right.

"Too nervous, i'm not hungry now either." I told him as I put my head down.

"My family isn't that bad, I think you'll like them." Brooklyn turned to look at me, as I turned and looked at him, his face softened, and his lips formed a smile. "They'll definitely like you."

"I bet you they won't like my american accent." I joked. "Since Lili has an English accent, like you, like your family."

"That kind of stuff doesn't matter to them." Brooklyn shrugged my comment off as we continued to walk.

"But what if it does," I nervously asked, it wasn't like Brooklyn and I were dating or anything, but I was pretending to be his girlfriend. "I'm sure they absolutely adore your perfect girlfriend Lili." I said in a petty tone, more petty and jealous sounding than I had intended.

"They will be thrilled to meet you!" He reassured me. "They cannot stand Lili, but they believe that I should be loyal, and she is sooo hard to get rid of!" He let out a little laugh. I was unsure if that was a joke or not, but I managed to get a small laugh out, just so that it wasn't extremely awkward, even though it was.

"You family is really intimidating, your mom was a spice girl!"

"You know your facts!" Brooklyn laughed. "Spoken like a true fan."

"I'm not a fan." I rolled my eyes.

"Noted." Brooklyn put his hand that was not attached to the elbow that was linked with mine onto his heart.

"I did not mean it like that, but you are a wimp." I rolled my eyes.

"Is your sole purpose here to hurt my feelings as much as possible before we get to the restaurant?" Brooklyn asked in a joking way. "Because you are succeeding."

"And this must be the lucky girl!" A thin woman in a black dress said to me as she walked towards me with open arms. "Or is our son the lucky guy?"
