"No don't leave yet," Brooklyn continued to beg as I packed up my suitcase. "Don't leave me with her."
"I don't belong here!" I argued with him.
"Yes you do!" Brooklyn frowned.
I sat down on the bed. "Tell me what your conversation with Lili was about when she was pretending to be me and i'll stay." I grinned.
"You are the worst." Brooklyn hit me with a pillow.
"I am just happy she finally gave my phone back." I shook my phone in Brooklyn's face.
"Don't trust her too much."
"I don't trust her at all."
"Neither do I!" Brooklyn smiled. I laughed. "Please at least stay for the next ball."
"How appealing!" I said sarcastically. "Because the last one was so great!"
"You just like to complain." Brooklyn nudged me.
"No I don't." I argued. "Not my fault my sister who I just found out I had is nuts!"
"There you go again!" Brooklyn said, his eyes wide.
"What do I get if I stay for the charity ball?" I asked.
"Another free dress, free food, free press?"
"Did I hear free?" Violet popped her head in.
"Yes actually, three times." Brooklyn laughed.
"Do you ever spend time in your own penthouse?" Violet asked Brooklyn. "Because you kind of seem like a stray."
"I'm not a stray!" Brooklyn argued. "Do you want the free food and dresses or not?"
"I want it, but she probably doesn't." Violet pointed at me.
"Ding ding ding."
"Please!" Brooklyn begged.
"Brooklyn I am two seconds away from throat chopping you." I rolled my eyes.
"Is that an American thing?" He asked me.
I cocked my head up, shocked at what he just said. "I'll show you what it is." I said as I lifted my arm, about to swing it into his throat.
Violet quickly grabbed my arm. "Don't, it hurts. And I think you can die."
"Even better." I raised my arm like I was going to throat chop Brooklyn again. "Kidding."
"I'm not so sure you are kidding." Brooklyn backed away from me.
"I am, calm down." I shrugged. "Do I get to pick the dress again?" I asked him.
"You have every time, what makes you think it would change all of a sudden?"
"Well i'm Elena now, not Lili." I said.
"Well then that means you get to pick the dress that is more you, instead of being Lili."
"When is this ball thing?" I asked.
"In two days."
"Do I get to leave right after?" I asked.
"If you would like to spend hours on a plane in a dress."
"Funny." I rolled my eyes.
There was a knock at the door. "Nose goes." I said, the three of us all quickly put our pointer finger to our nose. "You're it, Brook." I laughed.
"Fine." Brooklyn sighed as he got up and walked to the door.
"Works every time." I said to Violet.
"Um, Lena?" Brooklyn said from the door.
"Yeah?" I asked as I hopped up from the bed and saw who was at the door. "Elia. What's the occasion?" I asked her as she stood in the doorway.
"We need to talk." Elia walked into the room.
I watched her walk past me towards the seating room in my penthouse. "Come on in, I guess." I said as I followed her, Brooklyn shutting the door behind me.
"Can we have some privacy?" Elia asked as I sat across from her in the sitting room. She was directing her comment to Brooklyn and Violet.
"That would be my cue to go." Brooklyn said as he grabbed his sweatshirt that was draped over one of the chairs and left.
"Well it is not mine because I don't trust you." Violet sat down next to me.
"She is my daughter, remember." Elia raised her eyebrow at Violet.
"You may have given birth to her, but you will never actually be her mother." Violet shot back.
"Always a pleasure." Elia shook her head. "Anyways, Lili told me everything about your little encounter earlier, and I wanted to let you know that I do not appreciate you treating your sister, my daughter, like that."
"But you appreciate her spreading lies about Brooklyn and me, pretending to be me and stealing my phone?" I asked her.
"Do not lie to me." Elia shook her head.
"I'm not lying."
"I believe Lili more than I believe you."
"I don't care, i'm telling you the truth." I argued with her.
"No offense but your daughters a little bit on the kooky side." Violet added in.
"Excuse you." Elia said, turning to Violet. "I have many things I could say about you, but I am a kind person."
"The only time I put your name and the word kind together is when I say, 'wow, Elia is kind of crazy!'" Violet smiled. "Just like your daughter."
"You are both childish." Elia stood up and grabbed her purse. "I beg you reevaluate your past decisions and apologize to my Lili."
"Tell your Lili to leave us alone and we won't ever have to speak again." I grinned.
