Chapter 8

❇ Ava Johnson ❇

Two years go by within a blink of an eye. I still can't believe that I survived this place? Two years. It's a miracle!

I am now halfway through 11th grade, and soon I'll be here for the last time and will eventually go to college. "Earth to Ava!" Jennifer says while we walk towards her baby, yep Jennifer has a baby now, a pretty sweet one, it's a cute flame red mini Cooper. My mom and Cate bought it for us last year and now we can actually drive to places without nagging our mothers. "Hello? Bitch, you gonna talk to me or what?" Jen says once again, snapping her fingers.

"Okay, sorry! Jeez." I retort back.

"Rock ,paper ,scissors for who has to drive?" She asks.

I don't mind playing really cos I've learned some kinda trick to always win.  "Rock, paper , scissors." We both say shooting out our fingers. I had rock, she had scissors. Hahaha, when will she ever learn. "Please Ava, I don't want to drive, you've been winning ever since, and I have been driving for about like for 7 years in a row-"

It was actually 7 days but yeaaaah? "-so please do the honors of driving us to school, please?" Jen begged with her hands pressed and intertwined into the cutest beg. But I just look at her and hold out my hand in order for her to put the damn car keys in my hand.

But instead throws them at me and goes straight to the passenger seat. "Come on grandma!" She shouts .

"Oh I'll show you grandma alright!" I whispered.

I get into the car , we both put our seatbelts on and I pull out of our driveway. "Music?" She asks but I am an old granny right? "What is that dear?" I ask pulling my best granny face and voice.

"Ah, Ava I'm sorry!"

"I'm sorry, you have to speak a little louder dear!"

"Bitch, don't do this to me? What did I do?"

"What are you saying?"

"Ava, I'm sorry I'm sorry for calling you a granny, and I will never ever call you that ever again. I promise!" She yells.

And I can't help but flinch as my eardrums are about to pop from the loud shouting. So I just smile. "You better be!" I said braking as we stop at a red traffic light. "So? Music?" She asks and I nod yes.

The radio station we were on, was playing a One Direction marathon, so yeah, we are so gonna listen and sing, and lip sync with them.

"Oh! Baby look what you've done now! Baby I'll never leave if you keep holding me this way! Oh!" We both sang to the song Stockholm Syndrome "Who's this man that's holding your hand and talking bout your eyes?"

When I pressed the button to change the station, an Awesome song was playing.

Shawn Mendes : Nothing holding be back. "Yes,Baby!!!!!!" Jennifer squealed. "Should we get some milkshakes before we like go to school? We have like 20 minuets and like school is just four blocks away from that milkshake place." She suggested while I turn right. It's not such a bad idea. We use the word like way too much.

We never had breakfast so, I'll go.

"Drive thru or just walk in and order?" She asks, and I point to the drive thru so that she can see how full it was. "So in we go." She said as I stopped at the parking lot unbuckling my seat belt checking my makeup and grabbing my purse. Jennifer and I are wearing pretty much the opposite of each other's outfits. I had on mom jeans that make my long legs stand out with a belt, a plain white tee, my Nike air forces and to finish it off I put on my denim jacket.
