Chapter 22

"Do something!" Jen squealed.

I couldn't move, Jack and Cody were wrestling each other harshly. I've never seen the both of them so angry before. Punches were launched at each other's faces.

"Cody!" I shouted out.

I walked towards the both of them, trying to stop them. I tried getting in-between them but I was later pushed back by Jack.

That son of a bitch.

It really hurt. I landed on my butt and I got really angry. Did Jack just do that?

Not even with a warning, I stood up and slapped Jack with all my might. He just moved a little and looked shocked.

"How could you? You are disgusting! Don't you ever try talking or looking at me! You're so heartless, thinking that girls don't get hurt when you play them!? Just..." I yelled at Jack. I was shaking now, and I turned around to look at a bleeding Cody.

My face softened and I helped him up. Jennifer saw my struggle and helped me. We walked away.

When I looked back, Jack looked sad. Like he regrets something.

Well he must just know that I don't give a flying fuck about him. This was going to be a long week. Cody and Jack have been bestfriends since like forever and I hope that Cody has a good explanation on why they were fighting.

We went to the school's first-aid room to get Cody cleaned up. And Jen left to tell the English teacher of our where abouts so that we don't get detention charges for bunking classes.

"Why did you do it?" I asked Cody while looking up at him, cleaning his jaw. That's gonna leave a nasty bruise.

"He was an idiot, there are limits when it comes to being a player Ava, Jack on the other hand is just unstoppable. When I saw him kiss Zelda, I couldn't bare it anymore. I then saw you running away crying. And I knew that you were heartbroken." He explained.

"Then what?" I asked.

"I got mad, because he promised that he was done with his player ways, I know that I am done with that shit. But he kissed you and flirted with you. And acted like he was into you, just because you were the only vaunrable one at the sleepover. And now he's already kissing another girl. So I pulled him over to where nobody could see us." He winced as I put the alcohol on his jaw.

"Sorry." I apologized.

"We had a heated convo and he was not even sorry. I knew that he knew that he did something wrong, but he wouldn't admit it. And as soon as I mentioned you, he broke down. I pushed him back because I hated him at the moment. He just said that it wasn't his fault. That he was dating Zelda. And that's when I punched him."

"Cody.." I felt really bad now, because we both didn't like each other. Cody and I actually always fought when we saw each other.

But now that I see his caring side, I just wanted to thank him.

"It's okay. He will see that I am right and he'll forgive me." He said chuckling.

I finally finished his jaw and it was just a small cut that is unnoticeable really.

"Why don't we go back to class, yeah?" And I agreed, we walked to English.

All eyes were on us when we entered the class. We sat at the two open tables. I guess we were placed in alphabetical order.

"Ava, can I borrow your eraser?" Jennifer asked from behind me. And I searched for the eraser in my pencil case. I handed it to her.

As I turned back, Jack was sitting there with his head in his hands.
