Chapter 17
❇ Ava Johnson ❇
After the horror movie, nobody wanted to leave the room. Guys, that movie is scaryyyy. It's either we heard creepy sounds down stairs or we just didn't have the guts to stand up and walk downstairs.
All three of the guys keep changing the subject when we sent them down to get stuff. I can't blame them, they're not ready to die in a horrifying way just like in Cabin in the woods.
Which leaves us with one option. The relaxation flick.
Fifty shades of Grey.
We are half way through the movie and I feel really uncomfortable. Jack left the room to go to the bathroom not so long ago. "Guys, let's call it a movie, right?" Shawn said looking really messed up, his cheeks red, his hair tousled, his shoulders tense and his eyes wide. Cody wasn't looking good either.
I knew that Jen's choice of movie would mess us all up. But that's not what they said. I remember every single word.

"Oooh, fifty shades of grey huh? Unicornland getting corny I see." Cody said running his hand through his hair. "Better not get any boners Jackie boy." Shawn smirked at Jack. "This is going to be lit! Hey guys, let's try to watch the movie without chickening out!" Cheyenne challenged.
Now look where we are. We're all weird and everything is awkward. "Uhm, okay I'll check up on Jack. He's been to the bathroom for way too long." I announced standing up. "Okay." Everyone assured.
This is it, I'm going to be attacked by a monster right now. I walked slowly to the bathroom and the silence broke into whimpers. "Jack?"
I walked slowly to the door and listened to what it sounds like Jack talking to an alien. Okay no, but I was worried. I wonder if he's okay."Jack?" I called out again. Then silence was all I could hear. The door opened. "Uh, Vanilla. Give me a second, let me just finish this phone call okay?" He whispered.
Compared to Cody and Shawn. Jack looked the horriblest. If there is a word like that. Degrees of comparison, jeezos English!
"Yes mom, I swear. Cody is here too. An adult? Uhm, wait let me just get her, mhmm." Jack said to someone. I think he was motioning for me to come closer and I obeyed.
"Okay. Mom this is Ava's mother, uh. Please don't embarrass me." He whispered the last part.
Wait it kinda makes sense. He wants me to answer the phone, me acting as my own mom? I'd love to.
"Don't say anything that'll make you sound like a teenage girl. I told her that the sleepover is at your house." He said and handed me his phone.
"Angela Johnson speaking hallo?" I answered with a Spanish accent. "Ah good evening, Angela. It's Louisa, Jack's mother." The lady known as Jack's mom said. "Oh, Louisa. Jack has told me a little about you. How can I help?" I asked, Louisa seems to have a very heavy Italian accent too.
Might Jack be half Italian?
"No, I just wanted to check on Jack. Listen he's got a problem, sometimes when he meets new friends or people he hesitates and ends up doing unpleasant things. Please don't let your daughter leave him. She has a good influence on him. Why don't you and I have a day together with the both of them?" Louisa asked hopefully and slowly like a mother that's about to lose her child or something.
What problem was she talking about? I looked at Jack in a questioning look, but he never met my gaze. "I understand, yeah I'm sure my daughter would love spending time with your son. The outing sounds fantastic. Tell me, is it gonna be at your house or mine?" I asked pretending like I'm not panicking.
